The Love-Song of Imhotep (from Queen of Tears)

I breathe in the sweet breeze that comes from your mouth

I contemplate your beauty every day

All I desire is to hear your lovely voice like the echo of the North Wind

Love will give life back to my limbs.

Give me your hands

The hands that hold my soul

I will embrace you and live again

Call out my name again and again forever

And never will it sound without response.

-The Love-Song of Imhotep

***

This is the actual love-song of Imhotep, written by him during his imprisonment for the blasphemy of his love affair with the Pharaoh's wife. Each alternate line is for him or his lover to recite to each other, to reach each other's astral body- even across the dark gulf of time itself...

Quoted in the introduction to QUEEN OF TEARS!

Queen of Tears: Tyaa or Tiye was indeed a murderous bitch. BBC News - King Ramesses III's throat was slit, analysis reveals

BBC News - King Ramesses III's throat was slit, analysis reveals

Conspirators murdered Egyptian King Ramesses III by slitting his throat, experts now believe, based on a new forensic analysis.

The first CT scans to examine the king's mummy reveal a cut to the neck deep enough to be fatal.
The secret has been hidden for centuries by the bandages covering the mummy's throat that could not be removed for preservation's sake.

The work may end at least one of the controversies surrounding his death.

Precisely how he died has been hotly debated by historians.

Ancient documents including the Judicial Papyrus of Turin say that in 1155BC members of his harem attempted to kill him as part of a palace coup.

But it is less clear whether the assassination was successful. Some say it was, while other accounts at the time imply the second Pharaoh of the 20th dynasty survived the attack, at least for a short while.

Shrouded in mystery

The Judicial Papyrus tells of four separate trials and lists the punishments dished out to those involved in the plot, which included one of the king's two known wives, called Tiye, and her son Prince Pentawere - potential heir to the throne.

Queen of Tears

Queen of Tears is a zombie novel, with what at the time were a few massive differences from the norm.

Firstly, the zombies are actually bodies of the dead possessed and animated by the ghosts of the soldiers of the Ancient Egyptian Queen Tyaa (Queen Tiye as it's usually transcribed for no good reason- there are no vowels in the language in which it was originally written).

Secondly, the zombies are fought by competent armed forces like our real ones- so zombies, without magical backing, go down like a bitch. However since they DO have magical backing, they can mount a better fight.

The crux of the story is a continuation of the ancient enmity between Queen Tyaa and her daughter in law Nefertari ("Nefertiti"), "She Whose Beauty Goes On Forever and Ever".

There were two other novels written in the series- American Zombie- sort of a zombie super soldier - and Sister to the Wasteland, the story of a battle between a dead goth girl reanimated as a superhero and Herbert West, Reanimator. StumbleUpon
