If you hate
socialist policy and you vote for the opposite, you are allowed to be
scathing in your attack of the traitor who says one thing and then does
the socialist opposite when elected.

We vote for policy not party.

The
party with the best policies should always be your choice.

In our system
if our politicians lie to us our whole system fails.

This is socialist
big government policy being adopted be this government after they said
they would not do it………be very vocal.

However I do know what lying filth

to come to it’s senses.

Column - With climate scientists like this, no wonder we doubt | Herald Sun Andrew Bolt Blog

A month ago, its Professor Chris Turney got his ship of researchers stuck in Antarctic sea ice he had claimed was melting away.

“Sea ice is disappearing due to climate change, but here ice is building up,” Turney’s expedition wailed.

In fact Turney’s team — planning to examine parts of the Antarctic
“highly susceptible to melting and collapse from ocean warming” —
apparently hadn’t realised sea ice there had grown over three decades to
record levels.

How we laughed.

Australia: more skeptics than believers, and few really care about “Climate change” « JoNova

First up, despite the endless repetition in the media that the science is settled and the evidence is overwhelming, the latest CSIRO survey shows
53% of the Australian population don’t agree that “humans are causing
climate change”. When the ABC gives 50% of its climate budget and time
to skeptical arguments we will know it is fulfilling its charter. Right
now, the ABC serves less than half the population.

Secondly,
even with 47% of the population agreeing that humans are “largely”
causing climate change, many of these people still don’t think climate
change will be that bad. The issue “Climate Change” ranks 14 out of 16
general concerns, and among environmental concerns a pathetic 7th out of
8.

It seems a large section of the 47% think the warming will be minor,
or even beneficial. The CSIRO has done another clumsy survey, the
fourth in a series, still not learning that inaccurate survey terms make
the results of most questions meaningless.

The unmistakable bottom line
from this is that only a minority of Australians think that humans are
changing the climate in an important way. Most Australians are more
concerned about their health, their income, their job, water shortages,
or real pollution.

They are more concerned about just about anything the
researchers can name. Somehow this confuses the researchers.

If there is anybody who is a customer/employee of the Commercial

CommBank sponsored the Doodle-4Google prize expedition which was won
by Lisa Baddock. Proud Dad, Wayne Baddock accompanied his daughter to
Antarctica. According to the blog they interviewed Wayne just after he
returned. The problem is, they dated the article 17th January 2014,
several days before the ship returned.

An honest typographical error? Or the interview was done much earlier by internet or telephone? Well, when asked the question:

‘The unknown’ is often the core of adventures. What surprised you most about your trip?
Wayne is reported as replying:

“The isolation from the rest of the world. It really
gave us the opportunity to connect with the environment around us. We
didn’t encounter another vessel throughout the expedition
.”
:) And they say you couldn’t make these things up….

Clear proof CLEAR proof that the Ship of Fools was totally premeditated, a false flag against the free peoples of the west who are the target of the UN depopulation and climate alarmism agenda to destroy our culture and steal our wealth.

The BBC and Guardian are accomplices in this conspiracy to defraud.

The original plan was to create a scientistic documentary on climate alarmism, pushed to the hilt by BBC and Guardian scum. Instead, due to the incompetence of climate alarmist profiteer Turney and his accomplices, the documentary was cancelled, the trip exposed too much about how the climate scam is working, and illuminated the sinister forces in the media who serve globalist masters.

And if that isn't true, where are all the lapdog media reports on the Ship of Fools scandal?

From here on out it will be "limited hangout" from the lapdog media and the event will go down the memory hole... So that the same marxist conspirators can try it again.

New Details on the Ship of Fools « Climate Audit

The precise chronology of the Ship of Fools on December 23 has been a topic of interest on skeptic blogs, including my recent post demonstrating the falsity of Turney’s excuses. However, up to today,
this chronology had received zero media coverage, despite severalreporters from major media on the Ship of Fools.

Today, there are two stories (BBC and Sydney Morning Herald , both of which contain damning information (especially the latter.) Note embedded link in latter article h/t Bob Koss, with important details not reported in the main article.

Here are new details on the day’s chronology.

Chris Turney was given an award... for THIS.

Stuck in the Ice - smh.com.au

At 3pm an Argo carrying four people returned to the ice edge.

A passenger, who was standing near Turney when Mortimer
called the leader from the ship's VHF radio, recalled their
conversation: "Chris, [captain] Igor has just said we need to expedite
people back from the islands so we can get out of here," said Mortimer.

Turney, standing on the ice edge, repeated the message to confirm he had heard right.

"Affirmative," said Mortimer.

"If I take this lot out, how long can we stay?" Turney said.

Mortimer repeated that everybody needed to get back to the ship.

The passenger was stunned by the conversation, even more so when, a
few minutes later, Turney loaded an Argo with six passengers and drove
off towards the Islands.

At 3.30pm the second Argo, this time with only a driver, was sent to evacuate the remaining passengers.

While Mortimer's report said the plan was for passengers
to remain nearby the Islands and be closely supervised, several
passengers said they were not aware of this request.

"The anger on Greg's face when we arrived back was noticeable," said one passenger.

Chris Turney and Chris Fogwill, the expedition leaders, also declined to comment on specific questions regarding events on December 23.

Has Chris Turney lied about his support by institutions? « Whale Oil Beef Hooked | Whaleoil Media Whale Oil Beef Hooked | Whaleoil Media

Chris Turney and his now infamous Ship of Fools are looking more and more foolish as evidence mounts as to the real purpose and backing of their little trip of fancy to the ‘ice-free’ waters of the Antarctic.

When this debacle unfolded people started rummaging through their website. One page, that of their supporters, raised alarm bells.

It appears that taxpayers funds may have been used to promote this little warmist holiday camp on ice.
The Taxpayers Union followed up by contacting the New Zealand organisations listed and found some pleasant news…for taxpayers…and not so pleasant news for Chris Turney.

Following the well publicised case of global warming scientists being stuck in record pack ice in Antarctica (ironically the expedition was intended to study the dwindling sea ice) and the efforts to rescue them, the Taxpayers’ Union began enquiries late last year to find out precisely how much taxpayers’ money the NZ Government ”supporters” listed on the exhibition’s website had contributed.

It appears that thankfully New Zealand taxpayers’ haven’t forked out the huge amounts feared. In fact, it appears that the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (AAE) is claiming at least one ‘supporter’ it doesn’t have…

Spirit of Mawson Expedition: the food situation – Shub Niggurath Climate

The food situation highlights an important conflict. If this were a hardy science team, they could have waited out the freeze. Instead these were tourists under scientists’ care. By every conservative estimate, the tourists funded the bulk of the expedition. (If one hypothetically assumes $16,500 paid by each of the 52 evacuees, it comes to $858,000). The spectre of feeding their patrons mince beef rations for an indefinite length of time, which the Shokalskiy crew was happy to receive, must have weighed on the science team’s minds.

As predicted, the vessel freed itself when the winds changed. As the precautionary evacuation got underway, fate withdrew its hands. It instead followed the boarding party on the Aurora Australis, sending another storm her way.

From the the hasty diversion of the Aurora Australis to the dangerous helicopter missions, the moves made have been a reactionary mess. As Plazaeme notes, ‘fear and precipitation seldom come cheap’.

The BBC: less trustworthy, more dangerous than a cannibal polar bear – Telegraph Blogs

The BBC: less trustworthy, more dangerous than a cannibal polar bear – Telegraph Blogs

The first was the BBC’s betrayal of its statutory obligation to report on the world with ‘impartially’. In its own mind it got round this by creating its own definition of the meaning of the word.

The IPCC, the scientific and political establishments, Al Gore, the developers of wind turbines and heaven knows who else were all so unanimously convinced that man-made global warming was an unchallengeable fact that the BBC decreed that these were the only people who should be listened to. Anyone who dissented from this orthodoxy could be ignored as belonging to just a tiny minority of cranks, or venally corrupted hirelings of Big Oil, whose views it would be improper for the BBC to publicise.

The problem was that, outside the ‘bubble’, all sorts of things were beginning to contradict this cosy scenario. Ever more serious scientists were beginning to question the orthodox theory of what was influencing the world’s climate. It emerged ever more clearly that the projections made by over-simplistic computer models no longer matched up with the observed evidence of what was actually happening to the climate. Ever more evidence came to light to suggest that the IPCC was not the unimpeachably objective and honest scientific body it was claimed to be.

It was all this which helped to illuminate the extent of the second ‘betrayal’ in the BBC’s coverage of the story, the way it betrayed the principles of professional journalism. So committed to the cause were its journalists that, when important questions began to be raised as to whether the story was really as unarguable as it was claimed to be, their only real response was simply to dig in their toes to defend it. They could no longer step outside the ‘bubble’, as independent-minded journalists should have been able to do, to consider all these questions in their own right. They could only stay within the mindset they knew, talking only to those within the orthodoxy who could provide them with the answers they needed to fend off all these tiresome ‘deniers’ appearing from outside the ‘bubble’ to ask awkward questions – such as how genuinely scientific were the methods used to create the ‘hockey stick’ graph?

One of the impressions it is hard to avoid in reviewing the BBC’s coverage of this story is that its journalists, and those shadowy figures behind them in the BBC hierarchy, are not particularly well-informed about many of the issues they report on. This point was made as long ago as 2006 by the journalist Richard D. North, when he described his experience in attending that day-long seminar organised by Roger Harrabin, As North observed:

I was frankly appalled by the level of ignorance of the issue which the BBC people showed …I heard nothing which made me think any of them read any broadsheet newspaper coverage of the topic (except maybe the Guardian and that lazily) … it seemed to me that none of them had shown even a modicum of professional curiosity on the subject … I spent the day discussing the subject and I don’t recall anyone showing any sign of having read anything serious at all.

This may help to explain the third of the three ‘betrayals’ to which I referred at the start, the consistency with which the BBC’s coverage of this story has shown so little understanding of the basic principles of science. We have seen how again and again they have put out programmes designed to promote their cause which have contained quite rudimentary scientific errors. They have loved to wheel on front men such as Sir David Attenborough, Dr Iain Stewart or Sir Paul Nurse, claiming to speak with all the authority of being ‘a scientist’ – but who have then been shown, on matters outside their own disciplines, to be out of their depth. These people have been used to lend the prestige of ‘science’ for the purposes of what amounted to no more than clumsy exercises in propaganda.

Perhaps the most revealing example of all of this misuse of the prestige of science was that truly bizarre report produced in 2011 for the BBC Trust by Professor Jones, arguing that, far from being too biassed, the BBC’s coverage of the story should in future become even more biassed still.

The sheer Alice in Wonderland dottiness of this report might serve as a suitable epitaph on what has been one of the saddest chapters in the BBC’s history. Here is a hugely important and far-reaching issue on which for years it has been comprehensively misleading the audience from which it derives its funding. Yet the tragedy is that it seems so incapable of recognising just how badly it has failed us that there is little realistic prospect of it ever being likely to change its ways.

Add the E.U. to developing nations that are all too happy to get what they can from wealth redistribution, and you get a majority of nations that then try to fascistically bully and shame remaining countries to relent, e.g. India, China, U.S., Canada.

The last few days of the conference, particularly the overtime on Saturday, made it all too clear that this is all about global wealth redistribution, probably with an element of a thieves' cartel via. Brussels (and the U.N.), rather than anything to do with science or the environment.
Let's remember these classic quotes:

Emma Brindal, Friends of the Earth, 2007 UN climate conference:
"A climate change response must have at its heart a redistribution of wealth and resources”
---

Ottmar Edenhofer, co-chair IPCC WG III (and a lead author)
"First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole."

28Gate at JoNova: the BBC's criminal conspiracy to market marxist climate change

JoNova

The BBC has spent tens of thousands of pounds over six years trying to keep secret an extraordinary ‘eco’ conference which has shaped its coverage of global warming,  The Mail on Sunday can reveal.
The controversial seminar was run by a body set up by the BBC’s own environment analyst Roger Harrabin and funded via a £67,000 grant from the then Labour government, which hoped to see its ‘line’ on climate change and other Third World issues promoted in BBC reporting.
Tony Newbery, 69, from North Wales, asked for further disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. The BBC’s resistance to revealing anything about its funding and the names of those present led to a protracted struggle in the Information Tribunal. The BBC has admitted it has spent more than £20,000 on barristers’ fees. However, the full cost of their legal battle is understood to be much higher.
In a written statement opposing disclosure in 2012, former BBC news chief and current director of BBC radio Helen Boaden, who attended the event, admitted: ‘In my view, the seminar had an impact on a broad range of BBC output.’
First they take your money to force their opinions over you.

Then they take your money to hide what they were doing, because they knew what they were doing was wrong.

It was a turning point in BBC coverage. The 2006 seminar with “climate experts” turned out to be mostly a workshop with Greenpeace, industry activists and lobbyists. It was the point the BBC dropped even the pretense of impartial news reporting on the climate. After this “high-level” seminar the Beeb announced it didn’t need balance in the climate debate. Then having made out they were so scientific and honorable, they spent the next six years burning more money to hide the names of the experts from the public that paid for them.

Is there any better argument to explain why state funded media is not just a waste of money, but irresponsible, immoral and unethical political advertising?

This was no Antarctic pleasure cruise : Nature News & Comment

I can totally understand the nonscientific financial motivation for changing from geography (unsexy) to climate change (sexy) but what is the actual academic process that allows someone to start as a Professor of Geography and end as a Professor of Climate Change?

What is the procedure for minting a new field of study like Climate Change? I ask in all seriousness because the leading lights of Climate Change in Australia all seem to be either arts graduates or economists, with a smattering of other people totally unconnected to either chemistry or physics.

Baffling.

As for Turney, too many red flags. "Science Communicators" is another phrase that is way too much like weasel words.

And the plan in place by the BBC and Guardian to spring some sort of climate alarmist documentary made from footage of this trip has also been blown wide open.

And finally there is the Carbonscape vested interest, promoted in the past by one of the journalists from the Guardian who was part of the tour.

Opinion: Rescued Antarctic Group Aren't Heroes

Opinion: Rescued Antarctic Group Aren't Heroes

On their Spirit of Mawson expedition blog, one passenger signed off on December 28: "It's Saturday and it's bar-time (bar opens at 6 pm), so I am going to leave it here."

They even seemed to relish their crisis. The BBC quoted Tracy Rogers, the team's marine ecologist, as saying, "It's fantastic—I love it when the ice wins and we don't. It reminds you that as humans, we don't control everything ... We've got several penguins watching us, thinking 'What the hell are you doing stuck in our ice?' The sky is a beautiful grey—it looks like it wants to have a bit of a snow. It's the perfect Christmas, really."

For many seasoned adventurers, the team's attitude was hard to swallow. It seemed to betoken a new kind of entitlement, in which folks who get into serious trouble take it for granted that other people will risk their lives to save them. Re-Writing Mission History? » Climate Resistance

Re-Writing Mission History? » Climate Resistance

Posted by Ben Pile on January 7, 2014
Stephan Lewnadowsky has an article at The Conversation, saying that sceptics are wrong, in their pointing and mocking of the failed Spirit of Mawson expedition.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and by now you might have seen dramatic images of passengers on stranded icebreaker Akademik Shokalskiy being rescued by helicopter last Friday after becoming lodged in Antarctica sea ice on Christmas Eve.
Lewandowsky is, of course, the defender of the environmental narrative. Key to his argument that the sceptics are wrong is a page on the expedition’s website, which seems to claim that the mission anticipated the ‘fast ice’ which came to surround them:
If one goes to the expedition’s website, their first three scientific goals (there are nine altogether) are as follows:
  • gain new insights into the circulation of the Southern Ocean and its impact on the global carbon cycle
  • explore changes in ocean circulation caused by the growth of extensive fast ice and its impact on life in Commonwealth Bay
  • use the subantarctic islands as thermometers of climatic change by using trees, peats and lakes to explore the past
Says Lewandowsky:
In other words, the expedition is experiencing the very conditions it set out to study — namely the various kinds of sea ice that scientists know are increasing around Antarctica, while the icecaps on Antarctica are known to melt.
However, there is no mention of ‘fast ice’ on the site’s ‘expeidtion aims’ page in July last year, according the Archive.org wayback machine.
Now the expedition’s aims are outlined under a page called ‘Science Case‘, which indeed contains the reference to ‘fast ice’. But according to the Wayback machine, this didn’t appear until November, but the page in question wasn’t captured until January 2.

***

Notes

1. "fast ice" is being used by climate alarmists in an inappropriate way to somehow imply the fiasco was unavoidable because ice "formed fast". Whilst this moronic use of language is appropriate for the mouthbreathers of the lapdog media, it is pretty much the exact opposite of what fast ice actually is.

Fast ice is ice that is held fast. It is archaic nautical language meaning ice that has held fast or been fastened to the shoreline, the sea floor or a semi permanent glacier. Fast ice thus means ice that does not move and cannot move since it is stuck in place.

2. Turney was made a professor of geography. At some point he morphed into a professor of climate change, a nonexistent science. Like Flimflam Flannery and so many others, any qualifications he holds are tangential and irrelevant to the area of supposed expertise to which a professorship would logically apply.

3. No work was done that could possibly provide scientific data of any significance during the Ship of Fools Affair. In fact no work was done at all in most cases. It was a farrago of lies building up to a climate change propaganda documentary to be released by the BBC and pimped by the Guardian.

The Blackboard » Trapped in Ice: CC story of 2013.

My favorite bit is when he says his nickname will probably become “The Penguin”.
I welcome anyone who provides links to useful stories giving us details on:
  1. How this was funded. Was it 100% pre-funded, or are there going to be any remaining liabilities?
  2. Whether there might be any legal liabilities on the part of the organizers, particularly with regard to the eco-tourists. Hey. I’m American. I can’t help but think if this was an American expedition at least some of the eco-tourists would be trying to figure out if they could sue the organizers. Although, admittedly, each will have plenty of interesting stories to tell during upcoming cocktail parties and fundraisers or such like.
  3. Who paid for the rescue? Did the various ice breakers just head out for free? Or is someone going to pay the Russian, Chinese & etc. for their efforts? (Looks like the SnowDragon itself may end up needing rescue?!. The article I linked tells us
The cost of the rescue would be carried by the owners of the ships and their insurers, in accordance with international conventions on sea rescues, Young said.
So, does this mean whoever owns the ship Turney rented? )
  4. How this trip affected real research missions. Somewhere I read that some other Antarctic ice researchers were deprived of access to their equipment which remained on board the Aurora Australis when it was sent out on the higher priority live saving mission.
I’m sure these links are all over the place, but I haven’t had time to follow the story as much as I might have. So, share!
