London 2012 Olympics Medal Table - Team GB Tally

London 2012 Olympics Medal Table - Team GB Tally

As a follow up to the earlier Max Farquar post, about the London 2012 Olympics medal table, I thought we’d continue to keep a track of how things are going and how much each of the gold, silver and bronze medals are costing us pro rata, in relation to the £25 billion that we’ve had to fork out for the Seb Coe-Ca-Cola Sports days.

Well, I say gold, silver and bronze but thanks to a comment here, by George Silver, we can see what the London 2012 olympic medals are actually made of :
Gold Medal is 92.5% Silver, 6.16 % Copper, 1.34% Gold. Silver Medal is 92.5% Silver, 7.5% Copper. (It seems that coming second almost gets you the real medal.) Bronze Medal is 97% Copper, 2.5% Zinc, 0.5% Tin
Hmmm, anyway, we need some kind of rudimentary formula that we can use to convert the Team GB medal tally into a current cost per medal and thanks to a regular Max Farquar reader, Joe Public, we have one :
1 x Gold = 2 x Silver = 4 x Bronze medals
So, here is the latest London 2012 Olympics medal table as of midnight 1st August ….
London 2012 Olympics Medal Table Team GB Medals Tally so far gold silver bronze count great britain northern ireland men women funny image
… and, using the formula, I make that a gold medal equivalent of 4.5 which means the cost per medal currently stands at £55,555,555.60p. That’s more than £55 billion each. WTF! Oh, but to be fair, David Cameron reckons the Olympics will bring in an extra £1 billion revenue over the next few years. A mere drop in an Olympic sized swimming pool … if you ask me.

Australian rower Joshua Booth arrested over shop damage

An Australian Olympic rower has been arrested by police after a shop front was damaged in a Surrey town.

Joshua Booth, 21, who competed in the men's eight at Eton Dorney on Wednesday, was held in Egham in the early hours of Thursday.

Mr Booth had to be taken to hospital after he fainted and hit his head at the police station, a press conference at the Olympic Park was told.

Surrey Police said the athlete had been released on bail until Friday.

Australia's Olympic Commission chef de mission, Nick Green, told the press conference: "At about 3.30 last night I had a phone call, we had an unfortunate incident.

'Alcohol involved'

"One of our rowers, Josh Booth, from the men's eight, has got himself in some trouble. He was detained by the police last night for damage to a shop front.

"He was then taken to a police station. He fainted while he was there and hit his head at the police station and was taken to the hospital for precaution.

"He was released from the hospital and is now back in the rowing village, rowing centre accommodation.

"He was released as I said and no charges were laid.

"He has to go back to the police station tomorrow where the police will investigate the matter and make some outcomes out of their investigation."

When asked, Mr Green replied that he understood "there was alcohol involved". He said he did not know whether Mr Booth was on his own or with teammates when he was arrested.

A spokeswoman for Surrey Police said officers were called to Egham High Street at about 01:40 BST.
She added: "Officers attended the scene and discovered two windows had been smashed.

"A 21-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage.

"He was initially taken into custody at Staines police station and was subsequently taken to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey for medical treatment.

"He has been bailed to return to Staines police station tomorrow."
The Australian men's eight finished sixth in Wednesday's final, which was won by Germany.

Cyclist killed by Olympics bus

The poor fellow has literally gone under the bus- but since he's a member of the public not an olympic cyclist the lapdog media couldn't give a toss.

That'll teach him for straying into a Zil lane and getting in the way of the politburo and the nomenklatura. Filthy peasant.

The olympic rulers had no comment. And since the policing is at porno and bribeasy levels for the olympics, it will all turn out to have been a tragic accident, rather than the human sacrifice the XXX olympics requires.

His arm raised in an apparent Nazi salute, a Lithuanian basketball fan goads two black Olympic stewards.

The sight was also witnessed by two policemen at a game on Sunday night, but astonishingly they appeared to do nothing about it.

The moment was caught on camera by an English couple who noticed the ‘sickening’ gesture on the other side of the Basketball Arena in the Olympic Park.
While the police insist they are investigating, anti-racism charities have reacted angrily because they believe officers should have acted quicker and removed the fan from the venue.

The man was part of a rowdy group of Lithuanian fans who stood on their feet chanting loudly throughout the first part of their country’s opening basketball game against Argentina on Sunday night.

Spectators said they appeared to have been drinking and had moved over to a section of the stand right alongside the opposing team’s fans.

Stewards and policemen approached the group to ask them to sit down so those behind could see the game.

But as two black male stewards came towards them, one of the Lithuanian fans responded with what appears to have been a racist salute.

Despite the presence of two policemen yards below, the man was allowed to continue to make the gesture until the stewards walked away and down out of the nearest gangway, followed shortly after by the policemen.
One witness at the game, in which Argentina beat Lithuania 102-79, said: ‘I was waiting to see if they [the officers] would do anything. But they didn’t seem to move from their one spot. Eventually they went down the stairs and seemed to emerge from a level below - but the Lithuanian fan was allowed to stay inside.

‘When I saw what the fan was doing I turned to my girlfriend and asked if she also thought it was a salute. If it was a Nazi salute made to two black officials that is sickening. This guy needs to be singled out. The police should have done something. They need to make it abundantly clear they will not stand for this kind of thing.’

He added that the stewards appeared to be ‘calm and professional’ despite being face with what appeared to be the most grotesque abuse.

This summer there were widespread fears within England that black fans travelling to the Euro 2012 football championships in nearby Poland and Ukraine would face a violent frenzy of racist abuse.

Those threats were largely kept at bay, making it all the more embarrassing that officers in London appeared to do nothing when such an incident happened on home soil.

Ged Grebby, chief executive of anti-racism campaigners Show Racism the Red Card, said officers should have thrown the fan out immediately for using such an ‘extreme racist sign’.

‘It is a criminal offence. We can’t just let things like this go. It is the kind of behaviour that they should act upon immediately. We encourage the police to take action now,’ he said.
Weyman Bennett from Unite Against Fascism added: ‘The Olympics ideal is all about unity. People should take racism very seriously.
‘It is very disappointing that the man was not at the very least ejected. It’s disgraceful.’ A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said it was aware of the image and was trying to trace those involved.

After Switzerland lost 2-1 to South Korea in their second group game on Sunday, Michel Morganella, 23, wrote: ‘I want to beat up all South Koreans! Bunch of mentally handicapped retards!’
The Swiss Olympic team chief Gian Gilli announced yesterday that Morganella would be stripped of his Olympic accreditation as a result.

Greek oracle: tell the truth about mass illegal immigration by aliens from Africa, get banned from Olympics

Cheer up babe, you're missing nothing, especially if they false flag these lacklustre politically correct marxist games. It's surprising they're still allowing the wrong headedness of awarding medals based on achievement- isn't everyone supposed to be part of the same underachieving bowl of brown porridge now?
