These crazy pages seem to erupt, interrupting the narrative flow of the adventure story element, but in some way strengthening it too. Not exactly LOST style flashbacks, but they are definitely subjective, memory-like, not so much unreliable narrator interludes, more stream of consciousness interludes, like acid flashbacks.
