Angels Take Manhattan: worst plot hole since Inception.
Doctor Who under Mofffffattttt is certainly not based on science or indeed logic, but it plumbed the depths with the Amy / Rory sendoff.
1938 New York is now some sort fixed point in time, not that the concept has ever made sense under the current production team. However.
1939 isn't a fixed point in time. They've been there before, and in any case it clearly isn't a fixed point.
So.
Why can't Doctor Who just wait a year and pick them up in 1939 or 1940 or whatever? They're already totally out of synch with their "real" lives so what would be the harm?
Makes no fucking sense at all. I mean, none.
On the second subject, which was flagged back in the Doctor's wife with the supposedly throwaway line about the Corsair swapping sexes- how delightfully anti-normal and PC and right on. And it was no throwaway line as has now been admitted.
Doctor Who is a bloke. And he should always remain a bloke.
Turning the Doctor into a woman, or for that matter a black, will date the show worse than Jo's excruciating fashion sense back in the early 1970s. It's also a violation of trust to inherit characters you did not invent and warp them to suit yourself.
The Brian Michael Bendis school of pastiche. Or if you will, sheer hackery.

Edited to add: Doctor Who is a MALE role model. Imagine changing Wonder Woman to Wonder Man or Tomb Raider to a bloke. Imagine the Frankfurt School / jewish media / PC brigade outcry. Doctor Who is a male role model, always was, always will be. Warping the character into a fetishistic and deviant fanservice object has already gone waaaaaaaaaaaayyy too far, and for the 50th anniversary we definitely need a return to a disappointingly bland and "safe" baseline before the craziness begins all over again.
And on a related note, Doctor Who is also white, specifically anglo-saxon. Yes, the character is an alien, but for the first 49 years he's been resolutely WAS(P) and needs to remain so.
Fuck with someone else's culture, weirdo scum.

His arm raised in an apparent Nazi salute, a Lithuanian basketball fan goads two black Olympic stewards.
The sight was also witnessed by two policemen at a game on Sunday night, but astonishingly they appeared to do nothing about it.
The moment was caught on camera by an English couple who noticed the ‘sickening’ gesture on the other side of the Basketball Arena in the Olympic Park.
While the police insist they are investigating, anti-racism charities have reacted angrily because they believe officers should have acted quicker and removed the fan from the venue.
The man was part of a rowdy group of Lithuanian fans who stood on their feet chanting loudly throughout the first part of their country’s opening basketball game against Argentina on Sunday night.
Spectators said they appeared to have been drinking and had moved over to a section of the stand right alongside the opposing team’s fans.
Stewards and policemen approached the group to ask them to sit down so those behind could see the game.
But as two black male stewards came towards them, one of the Lithuanian fans responded with what appears to have been a racist salute.
Despite the presence of two policemen yards below, the man was allowed to continue to make the gesture until the stewards walked away and down out of the nearest gangway, followed shortly after by the policemen.
One witness at the game, in which Argentina beat Lithuania 102-79, said: ‘I was waiting to see if they [the officers] would do anything. But they didn’t seem to move from their one spot. Eventually they went down the stairs and seemed to emerge from a level below - but the Lithuanian fan was allowed to stay inside.
‘When I saw what the fan was doing I turned to my girlfriend and asked if she also thought it was a salute. If it was a Nazi salute made to two black officials that is sickening. This guy needs to be singled out. The police should have done something. They need to make it abundantly clear they will not stand for this kind of thing.’
He added that the stewards appeared to be ‘calm and professional’ despite being face with what appeared to be the most grotesque abuse.
This summer there were widespread fears within England that black fans travelling to the Euro 2012 football championships in nearby Poland and Ukraine would face a violent frenzy of racist abuse.
Those threats were largely kept at bay, making it all the more embarrassing that officers in London appeared to do nothing when such an incident happened on home soil.
Ged Grebby, chief executive of anti-racism campaigners Show Racism the Red Card, said officers should have thrown the fan out immediately for using such an ‘extreme racist sign’.
‘It is a criminal offence. We can’t just let things like this go. It is the kind of behaviour that they should act upon immediately. We encourage the police to take action now,’ he said.
Weyman Bennett from Unite Against Fascism added: ‘The Olympics ideal is all about unity. People should take racism very seriously.
‘It is very disappointing that the man was not at the very least ejected. It’s disgraceful.’ A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said it was aware of the image and was trying to trace those involved.
After Switzerland lost 2-1 to South Korea in their second group game on Sunday, Michel Morganella, 23, wrote: ‘I want to beat up all South Koreans! Bunch of mentally handicapped retards!’
The Swiss Olympic team chief Gian Gilli announced yesterday that Morganella would be stripped of his Olympic accreditation as a result.
Greece dropped triple jumper Voula Papachristou last week after she posted a comment mocking African immigrants.

What could be more racist, homophobic, gender reinforcing and flat out WRONG than this celebration of genetic and pharmaceutical superiority?

Scenes from the Race War in Skegness (or anywhere else going grey-brown)

Yesterday, nine “Asian” men were convicted of conspiracy and rape of under age girls in Rochdale and Oldham. It is no surprise to me or anyone else who lives where I live.
I live in a dreary, post industrial East Lancashire town. I grew up here. It is a world as far away from “iDave” and the Oxfordshire set or “Milibland” and “Utter Balls” as it is impossible to imagine. It is “multiculturalism” in action. That is to say there are white ghettos where the white underclass live, and “Asian” (really Pakistani) ghettos where the Pakistanis and Bangladeshi’s live.
There are no Indian or Chinese ghettos because they are largely middle class and have all become Consultants and Solicitors (a slight exaggeration but you take my point).
It is no news to the inhabitants of this town that this has been going on. In fact this is about the third such trial that I have heard about (and that is heard about, because the Powers that Be are very sensitive about letting such matters into the public domain).
But there is another side to this. Here is a link to an interview with the father of one of the victims of rape, broadcast on Radio Five Live’s Drive programme yesterday. The interview is just after the 5.00 pm news. The gentleman is clearly a free thinking radically liberal parent, intent on allowing his daughter to explore her own self, and confront important issues such as alcohol and smoking in her own way.
For those of you who are unable to access it for copyright reasons or because it has “expired”, let me quote directly from her wise and trusting father about what happened to her daughter:
“What happened was…she would go to the kebab shop with the other girl. They [the men] would be friendly, they would sit they would chat. They’d give them free food, they’d give them free beer, free cigarettes. All of this seemed fine….They would give them lifts…”
No, it is not. It is not OK to let your teenage daughter hand out in kebab shops with much older men who give her “free” food and ply her with “free” alcohol and cigarettes and give her “lifts,” you moron, it is a dereliction of your parental duties. You deserve prison almost as much as these rapists.
On another front, there have been plenty of voices keen to distinguish the crime from race and culture. The Police, for example, insist race was not an element of the case.
It is an open secret that Pakistani Muslim men target stupid, feckless white teenage girls.
There is a significant problem amongst some sections of working class Muslim men of Pakistani and in this case Afghan background. Most of the men involved in these crimes were married with children. These men, however, look at these young white girls as unclean from the start. They are “Kafir”, non-Muslim, and thus of no account anyway. The fact that they can be bribed or pressured in sex with the aid of booze and cigarettes (and in plain terms raped) just proves the point.
This case represents in a wider sense an act of priapic cultural victory by an immigrant community over the white underclass, which is doomed.
Well done, Britain. Thanks a lot.

Oxford Union’s Rack Torture
Madeline Grant, a 19-year-old student at Oxford University was running for the position of librarian of the Oxford Union with the slogan: ‘I don’t hack, I just have a great rack.’ As a result, a Union tribunal on Wednesday evening fined her £120 for ‘bringing the Union into disrepute’ and the politically correct humourless lefties have made Madeline’s life a misery.

She says she “wanted to make a point about the people who run the Union taking themselves far too seriously, and their response has proved that point. I’ve also found it very interesting that I was being accused of sexism, but they went to great lengths to punish a woman for making a joke about her body. I can’t help thinking that seems strange.”
