Yes, the Opposition benches were empty, so too were the cross benches and almost all the Government benches (see pic on home page) because Manager of Government Business, Albanese, had purposefully omitted to have it placed on the notice paper in an attempt to embarrass Abbott. But he forgot that the ruse would mean no-one would know about Gillard’s little sobbing address.
