History and Archaelogy - Kirs

History and Archaelogy - Kirs

In 1949 J.J.L. Duyvendak had pointed out to Zheng-He travels, in his "The Chinese Discovery of Africa", Richard Pankhurst cites a number of Axumite coins recovered betweend India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

"There
was a road that went through Eritrea and to the port of Azab and
Adule                              conducted trade with the Far East,
Greece, Egypt and
India.

This trade consisted of commodities such as ivory, gold, rhino horn,
hippo hides and teeth, wild animals, frankincense, Nubian emeralds and
slaves. The trade was wide and varied and skills employed in the
manufacture of these goods were
extensive. There were imports of silk, cotton, swords, wine glasses, silver
and gold which were manufactured into plates as well as the creation of
large gold and bronze statues. Trade links existed with Kush, Egypt, the
Roman Empire, the Mediterranean Basin, Arabia, India, Sri Lanka and
China. Again the skills and knowledge employed to make these links
possible was enormous. This was a world which was connected and which
carved out and developed trade routes some of which still are in existence
today. The Straits of Bab al-Mandeb was one of the three major shipping
routes of the ancient world. Ethiopia was the first country in the world to
mint a coin with a Christian symbol and the second country in the world to
adopt Christianity as its state religion."

Richard Pankhurst in R. Hopkins, "Trade".

It
is no novelty that by the year one thousand the world power, China,
had little or no interest in Europe. Three centuries before the
celebrated Marco Polo voyages, China was instead, it would now appear,
extensively trading with the African oriental coast. Much as it is
today.

A 'treasure' including 105 pieces of gold coins from inner India was found, specularly, in the Debre Damo Monastry mountain fortress grounds.

Sada
Mire, archaeologist, head of antiquities in the Somaliland Government,
Hargeysa and a lecturer at the London SoAS, has found around seventy
towns and trade posts that cover the north Somalia coast and point
inland to eastern Ethiopia. Interestingly, she has also found beautiful
Ming blue pottery shards and more ancient Chinese pottery in a sea port
excavation.

Illinois vs Oklahoma

Subject: Illinois vs. Oklahoma - Read This

I thought  these  two e-mails, the first about Illinois and the second
about Oklahoma, made an interesting contrast.

PART 1 —  Illinois

 "A State  with No  Republicans!"

Some interesting data on the 'state' of   Illinois ... There are more
people on welfare in  Illinois than  there are people  working.  Chicago pays the  highest wages  to  teachers than anywhere else in the U.S. averaging $110,000/year.  Their pensions average 80-90%  of  their income.  Wow, are Illinois and Chicago great or what?  Be sure to  read till the end.  I've never heard it explained better.   Perhaps the U.S. should  pull out of Chicago?  Body count: In the last  six  months, 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago.
221 killed in   Iraq ; AND Chicago has one  of the strictest gun laws in the  entire US.

Here's the Chicago chain of command:  President: Barack  Hussein Obama •
Senator: Dick Durbin • House  Representative: Jesse  Jackson Jr. • Governor:
Pat Quinn •  House leader: Mike Madigan •  Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan
(daughter of Mike) •  Mayor: Rahm  Emanuel •  The  leadership in Illinois - all Democrats. • Thank you for the   combat zone in Chicago. Of course, they're all blaming each  other.  Can't blame Republicans; there  aren't any!

Let us get ALL the facts  out while we are at it:

Chicago school system  rated one  of the worst in the  country.  Can't  blame Republicans;  there aren't any!

State pension fund $78 Billion  in  debt, worst in country.  Can't blame Republicans; there   aren't any!

Cook   County ( Chicago ) sales  tax  10.25% highest in country.  Can't  blame Republicans;  there  aren't any!

This is the  political culture  that Obama comes from in  Illinois .  And he is going to  'fix'  Washington politics for  us?

George Ryan is  no longer Governor, he is in  prison.

He was replaced  by  Rob Blagojevich who is,  that's right, also in  prison.

And Representative Jesse  Jackson Jr. resigned,  .. and that's right, he and his  wife both are in prison  also.

The  Land of Lincoln , where our  Governors  and Representatives make our license plates.  What?

As  long as they keep providing  entitlements to the population  of
Chicago , nothing is going to change,  except the  state will go broke before the country  does.

"Anybody  who thinks he can be happy and prosperous by  letting the Government take care of him better take a closer look at  the  American Indian."

Don’t forget Detroit , another  great  example of a Democratic empire…

With all the bad news, there is hope, so  let’s go to:

PART  2— Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA    - may soon  have plenty of new residents!

THIS  IS REALLY  INTERESTING, AND TRUE ... PLEASE READ   IT!

Oklahoma    is the only state that Obama did  not win even one county in the last  election...  While  everyone is focusing on  Arizona’s new law, look what   Oklahoma has been  doing!!!

An  update  from  Oklahoma :

Oklahoma    law passed, 37  to 9 an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front  entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along  with the ACLU,said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a  conservative  state, based on Christian values... HB   1330

Guess  what... Oklahoma did it   anyway.

Oklahoma    recently passed a law in the  state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to  where they came from unless they want to get a green card and  become an American citizen. They  all scattered.   HB1804. This was  against the advice of the  Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a  mistake.

Guess   what... Oklahoma did it  anyway.

Recently  we  passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegal's  to  the Oklahoma database, for criminal  investigative  purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional SB   1102

Guess  what... Oklahoma did it   anyway.

Several  weeks ago, we passed a law,  declaring  Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under  the  Federal Government directives. Joining Texas, Montana and  Utah as the  only states to do so.

More  states  are likely to follow: Louisiana , Alabama , Georgia ,
Carolina 's,  Kentucky , Missouri , Arkansas , West Virginia , Mississippi and Florida .
Save your confederate money, it appears the South is   about to rise up once again. HJR  1003

The   federal Government has made bold steps to take away our  guns.
Oklahoma , a week ago, passed a law confirming people in  this  state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their   vehicles. I'm sure that was a setback for the criminals  The  Liberals didn't like it --   But....

Guess  what... Oklahoma did it   anyway.

Just  this month, the state has voted and  passed a law that ALL drivers’ license exams will be printed in  English, and only English, and no  other language. They have  been called racist for doing this, but the  fact is that ALL of  the road signs are in English only. If you  want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read  and write English. Really  simple.

By  the way, the Liberals don't like any of  this  either

Guess  what... who cares...   Oklahoma is  doing it anyway.

How the Monsanto Protection Act snuck into law | NODISINFO

Slipped into the Agricultural Appropriations Bill, which passed through
Congress last week, was a small provision that’s a big deal for Monsanto
and its opponents. The provision protects genetically modified seeds
from litigation in the face of health risks and has thus been dubbed the
“Monsanto Protection Act” by activists who oppose the biotech giant.
President Barack Obama signed the spending bill, including the
provision, into law on Tuesday.

The document we have sure ain't broken, so why change it? | The Australian

The document we have sure ain't broken, so why change it? | The Australian

THERE are two ways of understanding disagreement on important public
issues. One way is to assume your own view is the result of some sort of
pipeline to God, indisputably good in other words, and so all those who
disagree with you are either dumb, malevolent or in need of some
re-education. The other way is simply to recognise that a lot of smart,
nice, well-informed people simply disagree on all sorts of important
issues ranging from euthanasia to how to deal with those trying (dare
one say illegally?) to come to this country by boat, over to labour
relations, on to whether to amend our Constitution, and more.

In the past two decades our top judges have taken to
interpreting our written Constitution in a way that is very hard to
defend. Twenty years ago, the High Court discovered, or read in, or flat
out made up (according to taste), an implied freedom of political
communication.

I count myself as one of the biggest free speech adherents in the
country, and in substantive terms, I like this outcome. But as a matter
of honestly interpreting the words of our Constitution, these cases
strike me as so implausible as to be laughable.

And in a democracy where all of us count equally with an equal vote to
choose people to make social policy, that is a very bad thing.

Or more recently, in a couple of voting rights cases, our High Court in
my view issued two of the most interpretively implausible decisions I
have read since coming to this country. In both instances they
over-ruled the elected parliament and struck down statutes passed by the
elected representatives of the people.

And they did so with virtually no textual warrant from our Constitution.
They treated the words as some sort of jumping off point for seeing the
Constitution as a “living tree” that can be pruned and altered over
time, but of course only by them, seven unelected ex-lawyers.

Of course not everyone sees these cases the way I do. But notice that
once you go down this road, it becomes something of an unknown how a
change to our Constitution today will be treated by a future High Court
in 15 or 20 years.

And I fear that this mooted change to our Constitution to insert some
sort of recognition clause might be used by latter day judges to do all
sorts of things unimaginable, or pooh-poohed, today.

If you doubt that, ask yourself how many people back at the start of the
1900s thought that the phrase “directly chosen by the people” could be
used by judges to dictate when the electoral rolls could close or that
some of those in prison could vote when parliament said they could not.
The answer is that none of them back then thought this. They thought
they were leaving these issues to the parliament. So when people today
assure you that the words they propose to insert will transfer no power
to our unelected judges, there are some sensible grounds for being
sceptical, at least until we see what explicit words emerge as the
proposed amendment.

About the Triptych | It Was Only A Dream

About the Triptych | It Was Only A Dream

The picture reveals three inconvenient truth’s (not facts) about our world that many people do not realize.

In the left side, we see a reflection of the sun in a pool of water.
If you were an animal, and had never seen the sun, and you came upon
that pool, you might think the sun was somewhere below the pool of
water.  Your whole concept of the sun would be because of the reflected
image, and not the actual sun itself.  Your whole idea of what the sun
was, how it rose and set, would be based upon that little pool of water.
Only by turning around, and seeing it in the sky, with all it’s power
and glory, would you really begin to see it for what it was.  This is
how the vast majority (myself included at one time) see life.  We are
seeing a small reflection of what it going on, and because that
reflection can be controlled, we are not seeing the whole picture.  If
you “turn around” and “look closer”, you will begin to see the truth.

The middle part of the triptych shows a scene that many (including
myself) would not believe, this is where you have really gone from the
looking glass down into the rabbit’s hole.  That scene is from the
“Cremation of Care” ceremony at Bohemian Grove.  The Grove is an
exclusive “club” for world leaders and movers, set in a giant forest of
tree’s in California.  Each year, various “elites” including Presidents
(men like Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, Bush (both),
Eisenhower, etc), Kings, CEO’s, Senators, Congressmen, etc, go to the
Grove and discuss what they “really” want.  Bizarre plays with men such
as Henry Kissinger dressed in drag, “tent cities” where the men drink
all day and traditionally “piss on the trees”, and various reportings of
prostitutes (both female and male) catering to the men are strange
enough.  However, the highlight of the annual Grove assembly is the
Cremation of Care ceremony.  This ancient sacrificial ceremony (a dummy
is used for the sacrifice) is like an ancient Canaanite ceremony in
which the “god” Molech is appeased to get rid of the participant’s cares
and woes thru the burning of a human.

The last part of the triptych attempts to bring it all together –
what is the basis of the looking glass, and why is it happening?  The
explanation is that there is true evil in this world, and it is both
physical and spiritual.  The fall of man, and the continuing controversy
beween Satan and God are why everything is rapidly “spinning” out of
control.  Only by understanding what is REALLY happening can you attempt
to see your role.  As Winston Smith (1984) said, “I understand HOW it
happened, I don’t understand WHY..”

Here’s hoping you and I can begin to understand HOW and WHY…that is my purpose…

Why does the ABC hate our navy? | Daily Telegraph Miranda Devine Blog

Don’t limit it to the navy, Miranda. The ABC and it’s acolytes
hate the entire country, what it stands for, who governs it and the
caucasian section of the population. It hates Christian religions, sees
no problems of importing as many people into the place that have a
belief they have to kill the infidels. It loves the idea of making
energy beyond the means of people, considers people drowning at sea as ‘
things happen’ (politely put) and if we’re lucky seems dead keen to
invite Indonesia - which it nearly induced to starve of protein - to go
to war on us. This latter is probably the reflection of ABC type beliefs
that the world is overpopulated and something needs to be done about
it.

Most people just shake their heads over the ABC. I think most of us are
forced to think it is an organisation staffed by juveniles and run by
school prefects. It is time the ‘ Chairman of the Board’ introduced some
adults, enforced school rules or withdrew funds to close it and started
again.

Adam Lanza, the purported Sandy Hook
School shooter, is the subject of an ongoing investigation in
Connecticut. No, it’s not a police probe, it’s about “mental health.”

The investigation is all about Lanza’s
medical history, what diagnoses were made, who the doctors were, what
psychiatric drugs they prescribed Lanza.

The Governor of Connecticut is
ultimately in charge, in order to make recommendations about improving
“mental health” in the state and preventing future violent tragedies.

But the inquiry has stalled. And stalled.

Despite multiple agencies apparently
having possession of Lanza’s medical/psychiatric history, these reports
have been held close to the vest and not released.

Why?

'I'm Not A Lookalike' Project Showcases Strangers Who Look Like Twins (PHOTOS)

The real question about identical strangers is, when they are living a mile away from each other and belong to the same mothers' group, why didn't ANYONE at some point EVER say, "jeebus prison showering christ you two are identical!" huh?

Seems very odd no one would remark on it.

Nancy Lanza and Ann E Haddad for example.

I wonder if the whole doppelganger photo project is nothing more than case management to cover the use of lookalikes in intel operations- going back to the many Lee Harvey Oswalds and James Earl Ray lookalike who kindly provided him with a passport for his government funded overseas travel?

Captain Phillips 'no hero' in real life, say ship's crew | Film | theguardian.com

Sailors who endured the real-life attack by Somali pirates which forms the basis of Oscar-tipped thriller Captain Phillips have condemned the version of events shown in the film.

Crew members of the Maersk Alabama, which suffered the raid off the coast of lawless Somalia in April 2009, told the New York Post the titular hero played by Tom Hanks in Paul Greengrass's
critically acclaimed film was far from heroic. The sailors, who are
suing their employers Maersk Line and the Waterman Steamship Corp for
$50m, said Richard Phillips was a sullen, self-righteous man: their suit
claims the captain's wilful disregard for his crew's safety contributed
to the attack.

"Phillips wasn't the big leader like he is in the
movie," said one crew member who worked closely with the captain,
speaking anonymously for legal reasons. "No one wants to sail with him,"
he told the Post.

The crew member said Phillips, who went on to
meet Barack Obama and write a memoir, refused to cut power and lock
himself and the crew below deck in line with anti-pirate protocol. "He
didn't want anything to do with it, because it wasn't his plan," said
the crew member. "He was real arrogant."

Grey Notmad witness to the truth

Cool it … | Pointman's

On Sunday 26 January 2014 we will celebrate 226th Birthday of the
greatest experiment in human settlement in the History of the modern
world.

We like to call it Australia Day, although the first settlement was
called New South Wales, and we are very proud of what we have achieved
in only 226 years.

Unfortunately there are always knockers and troublemakers and
Australia Day usually brings them out of the woodwork. They are usually
ill-informed and are blindly following a few ideologues who want to
destroy the achievements but have no sensible idea of how it could be
replaced with something better.

However when our Tertiary Education system presents misinformation
into the public arena in the guise of fact it must not be allowed to go
unchallenged.

Some weeks ago The Chancellor of the Australian National University
welcomed Professor Tim Flannery to give the Annual ANU Reconciliation
Lecture. He Introduced Professor Flannery as a former Australian of the
Year and as the Chief Commissioner of the Australian Climate Commission.

The misinformation began right there. Professor Flannery and his
fellow Commissioners were terminated by the incoming Federal Government
in September 2013. In defiance Flannery formed the Independent Climate
Council which has no official authority or funding.

There is always a danger when Academics encroach into spheres beyond
their training or understanding and Professor Flannery has taken a step
too far. Nothing in his studies of Mammalogy and Palaeontology, or even
navigating the Murray River, or pontificating on Global Warming is
remotely connected to Constitutional Law, Land Tenure or War History.
Yet this doyen of twisted leftist ideology has possibly set back the
cause of Aboriginal Australians like no other person in our history.

Many of you have heard of the Mabo Case regarding land rights for the
Meriam people from the Murray Islands in the Torres Strait. The Case
came before the High Court of Australia in 1982. The factors were
Continuous Settlement, Terra Nullius, and extinguishment of land rights
by conflict. The High Court held that the Meriam people had continuously
settled the Murray Islands from before 1788 to the present day and had
not been dispossessed of their land by conflict. They were therefore
entitled to land rights.

The then Federal Government legislated to give the same rights
granted to the Meriam people to the various tribes on the Australian
Mainland. They used specious arguments like a misdescription of Terra
Nullius to justify their legislation. They did not listen to the
Historians and pastoralists who said “Hey wait a minute, if the land was
taken by armed conflict then ALL LAND RIGHTS ARE EXTINGUISHED”.

Now this great Australian guru (on all things outside mammalogy) says
“that the aboriginal people fought and died defending their lands and
people against white settlers are ignored by the Australian War
Memorial. In any other war they would have been awarded a Victoria
Cross.”

First if Flannery is right about the armed conflicts then much of the
land rights awarded to various tribes of Aboriginals should not have
been awarded. Then he likens them to the 300 Spartans who held off the
Persians (No Spartan to my knowledge had land rights granted against the
Persians). Then he talks about the Victoria Cross which can only be
awarded for valour “in the face of the enemy” to members of the armed
forces of various Commonwealth countries, and previous British Empire
territories.

Even if the Aboriginal warriors fought with valour they fought AGAINST
the forces of the British Empire Territories and were therefore not
eligible.

I hope his foolish man has not endangered the native title of
Aboriginal Australians and I sincerely hope he ceases his frequent
incursions into spheres beyond his comprehension.

Clear proof CLEAR proof that the Ship of Fools was totally premeditated, a false flag against the free peoples of the west who are the target of the UN depopulation and climate alarmism agenda to destroy our culture and steal our wealth.

The BBC and Guardian are accomplices in this conspiracy to defraud.

The original plan was to create a scientistic documentary on climate alarmism, pushed to the hilt by BBC and Guardian scum. Instead, due to the incompetence of climate alarmist profiteer Turney and his accomplices, the documentary was cancelled, the trip exposed too much about how the climate scam is working, and illuminated the sinister forces in the media who serve globalist masters.

And if that isn't true, where are all the lapdog media reports on the Ship of Fools scandal?

From here on out it will be "limited hangout" from the lapdog media and the event will go down the memory hole... So that the same marxist conspirators can try it again.

Chris Turney was given an award... for THIS.

Stuck in the Ice - smh.com.au

At 3pm an Argo carrying four people returned to the ice edge.

A passenger, who was standing near Turney when Mortimer
called the leader from the ship's VHF radio, recalled their
conversation: "Chris, [captain] Igor has just said we need to expedite
people back from the islands so we can get out of here," said Mortimer.

Turney, standing on the ice edge, repeated the message to confirm he had heard right.

"Affirmative," said Mortimer.

"If I take this lot out, how long can we stay?" Turney said.

Mortimer repeated that everybody needed to get back to the ship.

The passenger was stunned by the conversation, even more so when, a
few minutes later, Turney loaded an Argo with six passengers and drove
off towards the Islands.

At 3.30pm the second Argo, this time with only a driver, was sent to evacuate the remaining passengers.

While Mortimer's report said the plan was for passengers
to remain nearby the Islands and be closely supervised, several
passengers said they were not aware of this request.

"The anger on Greg's face when we arrived back was noticeable," said one passenger.

Chris Turney and Chris Fogwill, the expedition leaders, also declined to comment on specific questions regarding events on December 23.

Julia Gillard was a crooked lawyer who helped a crook cover his tracks. Not very well either.

There are partners at Slater and Gordon who would do well to
consider going to authorities today to make statements about what they
knew of the circumstances of the assistance afforded to Bruce Morton
Wilson by lawyer(s) at Slater and Gordon during July/August 1995.

On 14 July 1995 Bruce Wilson attempted to withdraw $160,770.00
from the AWU Members Welfare Association No1 bank account held at the
Commonwealth Bank of Australia by a cheque he attempted to deposit into
an account he controlled personally.

On the same day all the AWU's bank accounts in Melbourne had been frozen by the new AWU Victoria Branch Secretary Bob Smith.  This post contains some history.

The Commonwealth Bank was advised of a "dispute" between new AWU
Secretary Bob Smith and former AWU Secretary Bruce Wilson concerning
certain Victorian "AWU" accounts.

The CBA, Bob Smith and Ian Cambridge (including in his sworn
affidavit) all agree that Bob Smith was represented in the "dispute" by
Maurice Blackburn lawyers and Bruce Wilson was represented by Slater and
Gordon.

It's important to look at what the dispute was about and what bank account was involved.

Truth about the Seralini rat-tumor-GMO study explodes « Jon Rappoport's Blog

Truth about the Seralini rat-tumor-GMO study explodes « Jon Rappoport's Blog

Remember a researcher named Gilles-Eric Seralini, his 2012 GMO study, and the controversy that swirled around it?

He fed rats GMOs, in the form of Monsanto’s Roundup Ready corn, and they developed tumors. Some died. The study was published in the journal, Food and Chemical Toxicology. Pictures of the rats were published.

A wave of biotech-industry criticism ensued. Pressure built. “Experts” said the study was grossly unscientific, its methods were unprofessional, and Seralini was biased against GMOs from the get-go. Monsanto didn’t like Seralini at all.

The journal which published the Seralini study caved in and retracted it.

Why? Not because Seralini did anything unethical, not because he plagiarized material, not because he was dishonest in any way, but because:

He used rats which (supposedly) had an inherent tendency to develop tumors (the Sprague-Dawley strain), and because he used too few rats (10). That’s it. Those were Seralini’s errors.

Well, guess what? Eight years prior to Seralini, Monsanto also did a rat-tumor-GMO study and published it in the very same journal. Monsanto’s study showed there were no tumor problems in the rats. But here’s the explosive kicker. Monsanto used the same strain of rats that Seralini did and same number of rats (10). And nobody complained about it. StumbleUpon

DC universe truthers

Within the DC comics universes, you can be guaranteed that truthers exist- and one of the truths they seek to expose to the credulous sheep who believe the lapdog media within the DC continuity is that mild mannered reporter Clark Kent is actually the alien demigod Superman!

Whether it's the Smallville continuity, the pre-nuDC continuity or the current car crash, it is inevitable given the number of people who know who Kal El pretends to be that there would be youtube videos, websites and books published perpetuating the truth as comicbook readers know it.

Even with the help of closet homosexual fascist superheroes like Batman and Green Arrow and whatever fortunes they command from time to time, the suppression would be no more absolute than on our own Earth.

The real question is, does Batman secretly go around killing the last few investigative reporters the same way the intelligence services and organised crime does on our world?

Meditations on Michael Smith / Fugue For A Darkening Island

Michael Smith has had two weeks paid work in two years. Meanwhile thousands of mouth breathing traitors take home thousands of dollars every week for performing as part of the ABC's red orchestra or its lapdog media counterparts on the so-called commercial channels.

Judge a nation by how it recognises and treats its heroes. Michael Smith is our hero.

Must a prophet, let alone a judge, remain unknown and shunned in his own country?

Ship of Fools « Climate Audit

Ship of Fools « Climate Audit

Like many others, I’ve been intrigued by the misadventures of the Ship of Fools. Dozens of tourist vessels visit the Antarctic without becoming trapped by ice. So it’s entirely valid to inquire into why the one tourist vessel led by a “climate scientist” became trapped by ice.

The leader of the expedition, Chris Turney (also a secondary Climategate correspondent and co-signer of Lewandowsky’s multisignatory letter in the Conversation), claimed that the incident could not have been predicted. He said that they were trapped by a sudden “breakout” of multi-year ice (“fast ice”) that had previously been part of the ice shelf and that there was no way that they could have anticipated this. Turney’s claim has been uncritically accepted by the climate community e.g. Turner of the British Antarctica Survey here.

However, like other recent claims by Turney, this claim is bogus. In fact, Turney was trapped by sea ice that had been mobile throughout December 2013. This can be easily seen by examining readily available MODIS imagery (see MODIS here) leading up to the incident, as I’ll do in today’s post.

Compulsory superannuation is theft.

Super-sized rip-off for average workers

The reason there is no great outcry about this system is that so many well-paid people profit from it. The people who do the best are the funds managers. They are allocated money by the super funds to invest in stocks and bonds. The more money they manage, the more they get paid. They also get bonuses if they ''outperform'' the industry average.

The "people" running the funds include such marxist self enriching scumbags as Paul pigface Howes, Steve quitter Bracks, and the rest of their vile cohorts, not to mention their mates from the monopoly capitalist end of town.

Has Chris Turney lied about his support by institutions? « Whale Oil Beef Hooked | Whaleoil Media Whale Oil Beef Hooked | Whaleoil Media

Has Chris Turney lied about his support by institutions? « Whale Oil Beef Hooked | Whaleoil Media Whale Oil Beef Hooked | Whaleoil Media

Chris Turney and his now infamous Ship of Fools are looking more and more foolish as evidence mounts as to the real purpose and backing of their little trip of fancy to the ‘ice-free’ waters of the Antarctic.

When this debacle unfolded people started rummaging through their website. One page, that of their supporters, raised alarm bells.

It appears that taxpayers funds may have been used to promote this little warmist holiday camp on ice.
The Taxpayers Union followed up by contacting the New Zealand organisations listed and found some pleasant news…for taxpayers…and not so pleasant news for Chris Turney.

Following the well publicised case of global warming scientists being stuck in record pack ice in Antarctica (ironically the expedition was intended to study the dwindling sea ice) and the efforts to rescue them, the Taxpayers’ Union began enquiries late last year to find out precisely how much taxpayers’ money the NZ Government ”supporters” listed on the exhibition’s website had contributed.

It appears that thankfully New Zealand taxpayers’ haven’t forked out the huge amounts feared. In fact, it appears that the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (AAE) is claiming at least one ‘supporter’ it doesn’t have…

Game finally up for carboncrats

It was promoted as the voyage to study the melting of ice sheets in the South Pole as well as to retrace Douglas Mawson's perilous expedition a century ago.

Yet the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, led by UNSW climatologist Chris Turney, has become a comedy goldmine.

Spirit of Mawson Expedition: the food situation – Shub Niggurath Climate

Spirit of Mawson Expedition: the food situation – Shub Niggurath Climate

The food situation highlights an important conflict. If this were a hardy science team, they could have waited out the freeze. Instead these were tourists under scientists’ care. By every conservative estimate, the tourists funded the bulk of the expedition. (If one hypothetically assumes $16,500 paid by each of the 52 evacuees, it comes to $858,000). The spectre of feeding their patrons mince beef rations for an indefinite length of time, which the Shokalskiy crew was happy to receive, must have weighed on the science team’s minds.

As predicted, the vessel freed itself when the winds changed. As the precautionary evacuation got underway, fate withdrew its hands. It instead followed the boarding party on the Aurora Australis, sending another storm her way.

From the the hasty diversion of the Aurora Australis to the dangerous helicopter missions, the moves made have been a reactionary mess. As Plazaeme notes, ‘fear and precipitation seldom come cheap’.

The BBC: less trustworthy, more dangerous than a cannibal polar bear – Telegraph Blogs

The BBC: less trustworthy, more dangerous than a cannibal polar bear – Telegraph Blogs

The first was the BBC’s betrayal of its statutory obligation to report on the world with ‘impartially’. In its own mind it got round this by creating its own definition of the meaning of the word.

The IPCC, the scientific and political establishments, Al Gore, the developers of wind turbines and heaven knows who else were all so unanimously convinced that man-made global warming was an unchallengeable fact that the BBC decreed that these were the only people who should be listened to. Anyone who dissented from this orthodoxy could be ignored as belonging to just a tiny minority of cranks, or venally corrupted hirelings of Big Oil, whose views it would be improper for the BBC to publicise.

The problem was that, outside the ‘bubble’, all sorts of things were beginning to contradict this cosy scenario. Ever more serious scientists were beginning to question the orthodox theory of what was influencing the world’s climate. It emerged ever more clearly that the projections made by over-simplistic computer models no longer matched up with the observed evidence of what was actually happening to the climate. Ever more evidence came to light to suggest that the IPCC was not the unimpeachably objective and honest scientific body it was claimed to be.

It was all this which helped to illuminate the extent of the second ‘betrayal’ in the BBC’s coverage of the story, the way it betrayed the principles of professional journalism. So committed to the cause were its journalists that, when important questions began to be raised as to whether the story was really as unarguable as it was claimed to be, their only real response was simply to dig in their toes to defend it. They could no longer step outside the ‘bubble’, as independent-minded journalists should have been able to do, to consider all these questions in their own right. They could only stay within the mindset they knew, talking only to those within the orthodoxy who could provide them with the answers they needed to fend off all these tiresome ‘deniers’ appearing from outside the ‘bubble’ to ask awkward questions – such as how genuinely scientific were the methods used to create the ‘hockey stick’ graph?

One of the impressions it is hard to avoid in reviewing the BBC’s coverage of this story is that its journalists, and those shadowy figures behind them in the BBC hierarchy, are not particularly well-informed about many of the issues they report on. This point was made as long ago as 2006 by the journalist Richard D. North, when he described his experience in attending that day-long seminar organised by Roger Harrabin, As North observed:

I was frankly appalled by the level of ignorance of the issue which the BBC people showed …I heard nothing which made me think any of them read any broadsheet newspaper coverage of the topic (except maybe the Guardian and that lazily) … it seemed to me that none of them had shown even a modicum of professional curiosity on the subject … I spent the day discussing the subject and I don’t recall anyone showing any sign of having read anything serious at all.

This may help to explain the third of the three ‘betrayals’ to which I referred at the start, the consistency with which the BBC’s coverage of this story has shown so little understanding of the basic principles of science. We have seen how again and again they have put out programmes designed to promote their cause which have contained quite rudimentary scientific errors. They have loved to wheel on front men such as Sir David Attenborough, Dr Iain Stewart or Sir Paul Nurse, claiming to speak with all the authority of being ‘a scientist’ – but who have then been shown, on matters outside their own disciplines, to be out of their depth. These people have been used to lend the prestige of ‘science’ for the purposes of what amounted to no more than clumsy exercises in propaganda.

Perhaps the most revealing example of all of this misuse of the prestige of science was that truly bizarre report produced in 2011 for the BBC Trust by Professor Jones, arguing that, far from being too biassed, the BBC’s coverage of the story should in future become even more biassed still.

The sheer Alice in Wonderland dottiness of this report might serve as a suitable epitaph on what has been one of the saddest chapters in the BBC’s history. Here is a hugely important and far-reaching issue on which for years it has been comprehensively misleading the audience from which it derives its funding. Yet the tragedy is that it seems so incapable of recognising just how badly it has failed us that there is little realistic prospect of it ever being likely to change its ways.

Add the E.U. to developing nations that are all too happy to get what they can from wealth redistribution, and you get a majority of nations that then try to fascistically bully and shame remaining countries to relent, e.g. India, China, U.S., Canada.

The last few days of the conference, particularly the overtime on Saturday, made it all too clear that this is all about global wealth redistribution, probably with an element of a thieves' cartel via. Brussels (and the U.N.), rather than anything to do with science or the environment.
Let's remember these classic quotes:

Emma Brindal, Friends of the Earth, 2007 UN climate conference:
"A climate change response must have at its heart a redistribution of wealth and resources”
---

Ottmar Edenhofer, co-chair IPCC WG III (and a lead author)
"First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole."
