November 22, 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the political assassination of John F Kennedy. In an affront to the 1st amendment right to free speech, the City of Dallas is in the process of controlling the event with the intent of preventing those of us who know, rather than simply believe, that a high level governmental conspiracy murdered JFK. The primary motive for the assassination was that Kennedy refused to fight the Vietnam war. His efforts to end the cold war by engaging Khruschev and Castro were at odds with the views of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, particularly Gen Curtis LeMay and Gen Lyman Lemnitzer. In addition, Kennedy threatened to break up the CIA. Kennedy had fired Allen Dulles from the CIA, only to have Dulles sit on the Warren Commission which investigated his murder. Kennedy was hated by J Edgar Hoover, and was expected to remove Lyndon Johnson from the Vice Presidential ticket. Kennedy’s economic views challenged the oil depletion allowance, and challenged Wall Street. . As if all this was not enough, Kennedy was seen as too friendly to the civil rights movement.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings has refused to give Coalition on Political Assassinations (COPA) a permit to hold it’s annual moment of silence on Dealey Plaza as has been done for the past 49 years. Instead Dallas has given itself a permit for the entire week, although no events are scheduled for most of that time, and thus has excluded others from gathering at the assassination site. Dallas appears to be willing to cordon off Dealey Plaza to create a ticketed event, ostensibly for public safety.
This author/activist has created the website “occupythegrassyknoll.org” to resist this attack on free speech. Serious researchers and activists do not believe, as Dallas’s Mayor Rawlings wishes, that the time to celebrate Kennedy’s life is at the time and place of his death. Rather, the 50th anniversary should allow serious researchers the time and platform to express the fact that the assassination was organized at the highest levels, including the CIA. Our government, not Lee Harvey Oswald, killed John Kennedy on that day.
The establishment press has consistently backed the Warren Commission conclusion for over 49 years but 75% of the American public do not believe their media and their government. Why? I believe that many Americans have done enough reading and research to sense the deception and to understand that the government has been unable to make a convincing case against Oswald. For many others, the Zapruder film clearly shows a shot from the front, and no amount of propaganda can change that. For still others, the condition (not to mention the alleged trajectory) of Commission exhibit 399—the Magic Bullet—confirms the falsity of the Warren Commission. Each piece of evidence against Oswald is in dispute, including the rifle itself, the shells, the fingerprints, the incriminating photographs, and especially the autopsy. Not only is there no single piece of evidence not in dispute which would convict Oswald, the totality of the evidence presents a much different and ominous picture.

- Former supermodel Karen Mulder has been arrested in Paris for allegedly making death threats to her plastic surgeon. When she quit modeling, Mulder alleged that executives at Elite had used her and other models as sex slaves offered to politicians, influential media figures, and other officials. Mulder then was admitted into a psychiatric facility; Gerald Marie, the head of Elite Paris and one of the men she accused of abusing her, paid for her treatment. Marie was earlier the focus of a BBC sting operation that filmed him offering a woman posing as a 15-year-old model 300 pounds for sex, and talking of his desire to seduce as many of the teenaged contestants in the Elite Model Look competition, which was how Mulder originally shot to fame, as he could. Magic Mirror
Snow White
In the deepest winter, a childless queen sat sewing at her window. She pricked her finger with the needle and blood dropped onto the snow. She thought to herself that the red of the blood looked beautiful on the snow and wished that she might have a child who was “white as snow, red as blood and black as the ebony wood of her window frame.”
Nine months later she gave birth to a little daughter who was indeed white as snow, red as blood and with hair black as ebony. However, the queen herself died in childbirth. The king married another woman who was beautiful, but very proud and jealous of anyone who might rival her beauty. She had a magic mirror and often stood in front of it and asked,
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
who in this realm is the fairest of them all?
And the mirror would answer, “You my queen, are the most fair of all.” With this reply, she was happy because she knew the mirror NEVER LIED.
As Snow White grew she became every day more beautiful. and then, one day, when Snow White was seven years, old the queen asked the mirror who was the most beautiful of all. It replied,
You, my queen, may have a beauty quite rare,
But Snow White is a thousand times more fair.
Naturally the queen was furious to hear this and she came to hate Snow White so much that she never had a moment’s peace. She ordered a huntsman (Jager) to take the girl into the forest, murder her, and bring back her lungs and her liver as proof that Snow White was dead. But when the hunter had Snow White in the forest, he didn’t have the heart to murder her. He let her go and killed a wild boar instead, and brought the boar’s lungs and liver to the queen. The queen ordered the cook to boil them and she ate them up that very night.
Meanwhile Snow White had run deep into the woods where she discovered the home of the seven dwarves. They were ‘delirious with joy’ when they discovered her in their house. They told her she could stay with them and they would provide everything she needed if she would “keep house , cook, make the beds, wash, sew, and knit, and keep everything orderly.”
Brief summary of rest of the story: Soon the queen learned from her mirror that Snow White still lived. She was enraged and made a total of three attempts to kill Snow White. In the last attempt, with a poison apple, the queen believed she had succeeded. Later, when the dwarves found the lifeless body of Snow White, they felt she was too young and beautiful to bury so they placed her in a transparent glass coffin for all to see.
In time a prince came along and fell in love with her. When he ordered his servants to carry the coffin containing Snow White to his castle, they stumbled, and jolted Snow White. The piece of poison apple that was lodged in her throat flew out, and Snow White was revived. She loved the prince in return, and at their wedding ceremony, the evil queen was punished: she was forced to put iron slippers that had been heated in a fire and to dance until she died.
We can see here that the mirror certainly plays a central role. What, then, is the symbolic meaning of mirrors? I want to describe two important aspects of mirror symbols. First, mirrors represent a threshold between consciousness and the unconscious. A second point is that they represent an important psychological function.
The mirror as threshold
In her book Projection and Recollection, ML von Franz (1990) has studied the symbolic meaning of the mirror. She demonstrates how throughout the history of humans, in many different cultures, shiny surfaces have been experienced as being numinous. In other words, reflective surfaces have always held a fascination for humans because they seem to have some extraordinary (buitengewoon) qualities.
In February we heard Dr. Jacoby discuss the myth of Narcissus in which the reflective surface of water in a pond was the central image of the myth. Dr. Jacoby stated that Narcissus was entranced by his own reflection in the water, because the surface of the water reflected the Self, or at least the possibility of coming to know the self. But why and how does it reflect the Self? We know that Jung has demonstrated that water itself, with its reflective surface, is a symbol for the unconscious. Von Franz, again in Projection and Recollection (1990), describes the relation between the reflective surface and the unconscious:
The symbolization of the unconscious by water with its mirror-like surface is of course based … on a projection. Nevertheless, the analogies are astonishingly meaningful. Just as we cannot ‘see’ into the depths of the waters, the deeper areas of the unconscious are also invisible to us… . But on the surface, on the threshold area between consciousness and unconsciousness, dream images appear spontaneously, not only seeming to give us information about the depths but also mirroring our conscious personality. … The mirroring is always by way of the symbolic image that has a place in both worlds.
Thus, a mirror symbolizes the threshold between consciousness and the unconscious, and by looking into it, one may look towards the depths of the unconscious. And, the image that a mirror produces is symbolic and can be made sense of in both the unconscious and the conscious worlds.
A well known example of this symbolism in literature is the magic mirror in Goethe’s Faust.
Mephistopheles brings Faust to the kitchen of a witch. Faust discovers there a magic mirror and becomes entirely entranced with what he sees in it. And what does Faust see when he looks into the unconscious, as it were? He must, by definition, see the opposite of his conscious personality. Faust is portrayed as a totally dried up and exhausted University scholar, who is so lost in the world of intellect that he has lost all lust for life. In the mirror, he sees a healthy and vibrant young woman, who can be seen to symbolize everything he is not. For Faust she is the world of feminine beauty, sexual desire and instinct. We will recognize her as what Jung calls the anima of a man. A point to remember for later is that for women, the face of the unconscious is the animus. Once Faust has seen this woman in the mirror, he is driven to pursue her and, thus, to eventually transform his life.
Mirroring in psychological development
Reflection and the mirror are extremely important themes in modern psychology. They are central to our understanding of how infants and young children develop consciousness and a healthy sense of self. Many psychologists have recognized the importance of the mother-child relationship in this process, but perhaps Donald Winnicott, a British Child Psychoanalyst writing in the 1960’s, has made the clearest and most convincing definitions of this process. One of his key papers on this subject, is entitled, “Mirror-Role of Mother and Family in Child Development” (Winnicott 1967). Note that he assigns the role of mirroring to both mother, also to be understood as primary caretaker of the infant, and the family in general.
What do we mean by mirroring? I recently saw a talk by the Jungian child psychotherapist Brian Feldman who used this beautiful painting by Leonardo da Vinci to illustrate mirroring.

Here we see the Christ child being lovingly looked upon by his mother. And as happens countless times in the early phases of childhood, he looks back into her face. Winnicott’s basic idea is that as the newborn infant gazes into the face gazing back at him, he ‘sees’ himself – he cannot distinguish himself from mother yet. He mother are effectively one. Eventually, the child begins to recognize that this face of mother is something ‘other,’ and perhaps wonders what is that something other doing? The child then begins to realize increasingly that this other “is looking at ME.” “And this means that I EXIST.” These are the first steps of consciousness. This process continues and the child begins to learn things about himself through interaction with this ‘mirror.’ For example, when the child laughs, mother laughs in return and eventually the child understands, “I am laughing.”
Needless to say, the quality of this exchange is central to how a child experiences himself. In order for a child to develop a strong sense of self, the input from the primary caretaker, and later the family, needs to reflect the child’s genuine ‘own’ experiences. For example, if only happy outbursts were answered with happy mirroring by the mother, but unhappy outbursts were met with no response, the child would have difficulty learning to recognize the unhappy aspect of his personality and integrating it into his sense of self.
If this mirroring process is severely disturbed, the adult can develop what has been called a Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Narcissism as such, is a problem of not enough mirroring where not enough mirroring refers to both the total amount and the quality of the mirroring.
But how much mirroring do humans, even as adults, need? And who provides mirroring that is meaningful? The Jungian analyst Nathan Schwartz-Salant, is a recognized authority on Narcissism. He maintains that we humans require some degree of mirroring from others, throughout our entire lives, and certainly in times of difficulty. Providing this mirroring is naturally a part of psychotherapy. In this painting by Da Vinci, we can see that the Madonna is also receiving mirroring. Her mother, St. Anne gazes upon her with love and acceptance. Indeed, the Madonna is actually sitting on the lap of her mother while St. Anne seems to hold and support the entire exchange between Mary and Jesus within her loving gaze. We can imagine that both the mother and the child benefit from the mirroring that St. Anne is providing.
As we said, in early infancy, the “primary caretakers” provide the mirroring. But as the child grows, all of the primary figures in a child’s life become important: thus school teachers, older siblings, and especially in the early teen years, friends and famous figures. If we combine all of these people, starting with the parents, we can say they reflect the culture at large. Thus, one can say that in addition to the parents, the entire culture functions as a mirror to the individual.

once a promising science student who dreamed of finding a cure for
cancer, but strayed from a path of mainstream scholarship at the
University of Florida to a life of espionage in New Orleans with Lee
Harvey Oswald.In her memoir, Me & Lee – How I came to know, love and lose Lee Harvey Oswald, Judyth offers extensive documentation of how she came to be involved with cancer research at such a young age, the personalities who recruited her to move to New Orleans in 1963, how she was hired there – along with Lee Oswald – by Reily Coffee Co. and fired the same afternoon Lee was arrested for disturbing the peace on Canal Street, and how she became a participant in the development of a biological weapon that Oswald was to smuggle into Cuba to eliminate Fidel Castro.
Judyth shows the evidence and relates – from her first-hand experience – all she knows about the Kennedy assassination, her love affair with Lee Oswald over the summer of '63, her conversations with him as late as
two days before JFK's death, his role as a deep-
cover
intelligence agent who was framed for an assassination he was actually
trying to prevent, and how he was silenced by his old friend Jack Ruby.***
I don't put credence in Judyth Baker's interpretation of her relationship with Lee Oswald, and I don't think her tale is unembellished. However, the gravamen of it- that she was squired by Lee Oswald- I accept on the evidence to hand at this date.
However, I don't believe that the evidence supports that Oswald treated her as anything more than his assignment as an intelligence agent.
Marina Oswald accused him of having affairs- and Baker's relationship with Oswald was certainly physical.
My instinct is that Baker was being managed by Lee Oswald, basically he was her contact agent and was keeping this extremely young and actually extremely naive ideological young woman under control. She was certainly thrown aside by the scientists the moment she expressed moral concerns over their insane nightmare fuel work. But of course- after they had accessed her inspired genius information on viral cancer transmission. Used up- and thrown away.

How much did Dallas want to forget what happened in Dealey Plaza? Well, at one time, they even floated the idea of razing the Texas School Book Depository. When that happened there was a public uproar against it. So Dallas County acquired the building in 1977 and located some offices there. From that time, a few powerful and private citizens set up a group to raise the money to lease and renovate the sixth floor. Some of the money was donated by local government and some from private corporations. Eventually, after over three million was raised, the museum opened in early 1989. And it was run by something called the Dallas County Historical Foundation. From the beginning they have tolerated virtually no differences with the Warren Commission. How could they, that could imply the local police were in on the cover up. When you put on their headphone talk inside, it is essentially the Krazy Kid Oswald story. On their web site, they even try and cover up for Life Magazine concealing the powerful evidence in the Zapruder film from the American public. This is what they say: when Abraham Zapruder sold his film to Life, it was with the understanding they not exploit the graphic details of Kennedy's death until emotions cooled down. Zapruder sold all rights to Life Magazine. Once they paid him, he had no power over what they did with the film. Executive C.D. Jackson and Henry Luce—the owner of the magazine—decided to conceal the film from the public since they knew it contradicted the official story. The only way it was shown was when Jim Garrison subpoenaed the film for the trial of Clay Shaw and when Bob Groden spirited out a copy to finally show to the public on TV in 1975. Got that, 12 years later the public saw it. I think 12 years is enough for emotions to cool down. The truth is this: If it were up to Luce and Jackson, the public would have never seen the film. But that would indicate some kind of cover up. Which is something the Sixth Floor Museum will never admit.
Not only is the Sixth Floor Museum in the bag for the Warren Commission, they are resolute in resisting any competition. Today, Bob Groden lives in Dallas because there is almost no competition there today for the Sixth Floor. So he offers the public an alternative view to the Krazy Kid Oswald fantasy they sell at their place. And they don't like it. Groden has been charged once and ticketed 80 times for selling his books and DVD's in the Plaza. The charges have been things like "vending without a permit", "selling on public property", "selling on private property" etc. The police have confiscated some of his things without ever returning them. Each charge has been thrown out. He has even been stopped at a red light and ticketed for illegal parking. You think it would have stopped after maybe 20 or 30 times. Groden firmly believes the Sixth Floor Museum has been behind this harassment. They don't want anyone contradicting their cover story.
But it even goes further than that. At one time, Groden and some partners discovered there was an opening at the Dal-Tex building coming up. They thought of leasing the space and opening up their own museum, which would have been right next door to the Sixth Floor. Well the Sixth Floor would have none of it. They swooped down and leased the space for themselves—without using it. Groden stayed out on the grass where he could be harassed.
And far from just being a public spokesman, Groden has told me that Mack is actually involved in the setting of policy. Gary Mack is active and adamant about keeping serious Warren Commission critiques out of the bookstore. He once told someone that, "Those books are not accurate." Sylvia Meagher and Philip Melanson are throwing up in their graves over that one. They are not accurate. But Gerald Ford and his raised "neck wound" are? The Sixth Floor went as far as to use some of Groden's work without his permission. He complained about it. They said in effect, "Go ahead and sue us. We will tie you up in court for years." They then agreed to make a trade with him. According to Groden, the stuff they gave him was not comparable to the things they took. Not that of a hate filled Wild West town whose police force allowed the murder of the president. And then allowed his alleged assassin to be killed literally in their arms live on TV.

How much did Dallas want to forget what happened in Dealey Plaza? Well, at one time, they even floated the idea of razing the Texas School Book Depository. When that happened there was a public uproar against it. So Dallas County acquired the building in 1977 and located some offices there. From that time, a few powerful and private citizens set up a group to raise the money to lease and renovate the sixth floor. Some of the money was donated by local government and some from private corporations. Eventually, after over three million was raised, the museum opened in early 1989. And it was run by something called the Dallas County Historical Foundation. From the beginning they have tolerated virtually no differences with the Warren Commission. How could they, that could imply the local police were in on the cover up. When you put on their headphone talk inside, it is essentially the Krazy Kid Oswald story. On their web site, they even try and cover up for Life Magazine concealing the powerful evidence in the Zapruder film from the American public. This is what they say: when Abraham Zapruder sold his film to Life, it was with the understanding they not exploit the graphic details of Kennedy's death until emotions cooled down. Zapruder sold all rights to Life Magazine. Once they paid him, he had no power over what they did with the film. Executive C.D. Jackson and Henry Luce—the owner of the magazine—decided to conceal the film from the public since they knew it contradicted the official story. The only way it was shown was when Jim Garrison subpoenaed the film for the trial of Clay Shaw and when Bob Groden spirited out a copy to finally show to the public on TV in 1975. Got that, 12 years later the public saw it. I think 12 years is enough for emotions to cool down. The truth is this: If it were up to Luce and Jackson, the public would have never seen the film. But that would indicate some kind of cover up. Which is something the Sixth Floor Museum will never admit.
Not only is the Sixth Floor Museum in the bag for the Warren Commission, they are resolute in resisting any competition. Today, Bob Groden lives in Dallas because there is almost no competition there today for the Sixth Floor. So he offers the public an alternative view to the Krazy Kid Oswald fantasy they sell at their place. And they don't like it. Groden has been charged once and ticketed 80 times for selling his books and DVD's in the Plaza. The charges have been things like "vending without a permit", "selling on public property", "selling on private property" etc. The police have confiscated some of his things without ever returning them. Each charge has been thrown out. He has even been stopped at a red light and ticketed for illegal parking. You think it would have stopped after maybe 20 or 30 times. Groden firmly believes the Sixth Floor Museum has been behind this harassment. They don't want anyone contradicting their cover story.
But it even goes further than that. At one time, Groden and some partners discovered there was an opening at the Dal-Tex building coming up. They thought of leasing the space and opening up their own museum, which would have been right next door to the Sixth Floor. Well the Sixth Floor would have none of it. They swooped down and leased the space for themselves—without using it. Groden stayed out on the grass where he could be harassed.
And far from just being a public spokesman, Groden has told me that Mack is actually involved in the setting of policy. Vladimir Lenin once said, "The best way to control the opposition is to lead it." The '60's counter-culture may have been more controlled than people realize.
... As was duly noted in the last installment of this series, the law enforcement community had ample opportunity to silence the muses of the 1960s counterculture. That the state consistently chose not to utilize that power says much about the legitimacy of that counterculture. For if these iconic figures posed a demonstrable threat to the status quo, then why would they not have been silenced? Why, for example, were three members of the Buffalo Springfield – Neil Young, Richie Furay and Jim Messina, along with Eric Clapton, Furay’s wife, the band’s road manager, and nine others – arrested in a drug bust at a Topanga Canyon home, only to then walk away as if nothing had happened? Why was this case, and so many others like it, not aggressively prosecuted?

Hundreds of thousands of young men from all across the country were swept up and fed into the war machine, but not one of the musical icons of the Woodstock generation was among them. How could that be? Should we just consider that to be another one of those great serendipities? Was it mere luck that kept all the Laurel Canyon stars out of jail and out of the military during the turbulent decade that was the 1960s?

A real grass-roots cultural revolution would probably have involved a bunch of starving musicians barely scratching out a living playing tiny coffee shops in the hopes of maybe someday landing a record deal with some tiny, local independent label and then, just maybe, if they got really lucky, getting a little airplay on some obscure college radio stations. But that’s not how the ‘60s folk-rock ‘revolution’ played out. Not by any stretch of the imagination.
As Unterberger duly notes in his expansive, two-volume review of the folk-rock movement, “much folk-rock was recorded and issued by huge corporations, and broadcast over radio and television stations owned for the most part by the same or similar pillars of the establishment.” Right from the start, in fact, it was the largest record labels leading the folk-rock charge. The very first of the folk-rock bands, the Byrds, signed with Columbia Records – whose name, in case you were wondering, is derived from a little place known as the District of Columbia, where the label was founded and headquartered some 120 years ago..."

JFK: the tipping point of the American empire
Post World War 2, America ascended as the replacement for Great Britain as the heart of the anglosphere empire.
At that point, the normal rules of empire applied to America, just as they had done in Britain. Although in America's case, due to its culture, the resemblance is more to the medieval civil war period of Japan.
JFK took power through corruption of the electoral process, narrowly beating Nixon in 1960. This was the normal rat race of the oligarchs.
JFK's manner and intention was to be an emperor. The opposing oligarchical faction was to create a shogunate. Nixon was the weak emperor figurehead for the oligarchs; JFK was an oligarch who decided to become an emperor. Thus was the battle line drawn.
With the murder of JFK by the oligarchy, the shogunate faction took power, and did its best to make its rule permanent, Tokugawa style. Tokugawa style means- excessive pleasure culture, decadent refinements of popular culture, sterile glorification of the revered ancestors, and disarmament of the citizens.
Another indicator that America became a shogunate is that the emperors under the shogunate system are empty suits- morons like George W. Bush and Barry Soetoro. Their personal failings are irrelevant to the fake political process but essential to the control of the weak emperors.

Executive Action is a 1973 film about the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy, written by Dalton Trumbo, Donald Freed and Mark Lane, and directed by David Miller.
The film opened to a storm of controversy over the depiction of the
assassination: in some places in the U.S., the film ran only 1 to 2
weeks in movie theaters or got pulled from them altogether. The movie

Overreach? No. I think Obama's overreached for four years and gotten away with it. Snerdley just said, "What about overreach that Obama...?" What you're really saying is that somebody's gonna go too far and the country's gonna wake up and say, "Oh, my God, what did we do?" I don't think that. I'd love for that to happen. I mean, I could sit around and fantasize, but what I'm thinking is a strain of that, a variety of that.
I just think that it is going to be an event or series of events that reorients people in the way they're looking at Obama. I do think that's gonna happen, and it's not gonna happen because I sit here and tell people who he is and what he's like. I've been doing that for four years, and so have a lot of other people. Now, I'm not saying the four years have been wasted. We've built the foundation.
When the event or events happen that bring about this reality that I think is gonna occur, having this foundation, people saying, "Oh, yeah! You know what? Maybe they were right" is gonna happen. "You know, I should have listened to what Limbaugh or somebody else was saying." Maybe it is a little overreaching, going too far. It's rooted in a belief that a lot of people -- and I don't know how many and I don't know if it's a majority.

I am writing here to come out of the closet as a paid shill. For a little over six months, I was paid to spread disinformation and argue political points on the Internet. This site, ATS, was NOT one that I was assigned to post on, although other people in the same organization were paid to be here, and I assume they still walk among you. But more on this later.
I quit this job in the latter part of 2011, because I became disgusted with it, and with myself. I realized I couldn’t look myself in the mirror anymore. If this confession triggers some kind of retribution against me, so be it. Part of being a real man in this world is having real values that you stand up for, no matter what the consequences.
My story begins in early 2011. I had been out of work for almost a year after losing my last job in tech support. Increasingly desperate and despondent, I jumped at the chance when a former co-worker called me up and said she had a possible lead for me. “It is an unusual job, and one that requires secrecy. But the pay is good. And I know you are a good writer, so its something you are suited for.” (Writing has always been a hobby for me).
She gave me only a phone-number and an address, in one of the seedier parts of San Francisco, where I live. intrigued, I asked her for the company’s URL and some more info. She laughed. “They don’t have a website. Or even a name. You’ll see. Just tell them I referred you.” Yes, it sounded suspicious, but long-term joblessness breeds desperation, and desperation has a funny way of overlooking the suspicious when it comes to putting food on the table.
The next day, I arrived at the address – the third floor in a crumbling building. The appearance of the place did not inspire confidence. After walking down a long, filthy linoleum-covered corridor lit by dimly-flickering halogen, I came to the entrance of the office itself: a crudely battered metal door with a sign that said “United Amalgamated Industries, Inc.”
I later learned that this “company” changed its name almost monthly, always using bland names like that which gave no strong impression of what the company actually does. Not too hopeful, I went inside. The interior was equally shabby. There were a few long tables with folding chairs, at which about a dozen people were tapping away on old, beat-up computers. There were no decorations or ornaments of any type: not even the standard-issue office fica trees or plastic ferns. What a dump. Well, beggars can’t be choosers.
The manager, a balding man in his late forties, rose from the only stand-alone desk in the room and came forward with an easy smile. “You must be Chris. Yvette [my ex-co-worker] told me you’d be coming.” [Not our real names]. “Welcome. Let me tell you a little about what we do.” No interview, nothing. I later learned they took people based solely on referral, and that the people making the referrals, like my ex-colleague Yvette, were trained to pick out candidates based on several factors including ability to keep one’s mouth shut, basic writing skills, and desperation for work.
We sat down at his desk and he began by asking me a few questions about myself and my background, including my political views (which were basically non-existent). Then he began to explain the job. “We work on influencing people’s opinions here,” is how he described it. The company’s clients paid them to post on Internet message boards and popular chartrooms, as well as in gaming forums and social networks like Facebook and MySpace. Who were these clients? “Oh, various people,” he said vaguely. “Sometimes private companies, sometimes political groups.”
Satisfied that my political views were not strong, he said I would be assigned to political work. “The best people for this type of job are people like you, without strong views,” he said with a laugh. “It might seem counterintuitive, but actually we’ve found that to be the case.” Well, OK. Fine. As long as it comes with a steady paycheck, I’d believe whatever they wanted me to believe, as the guy in Ghostbusters said.
After discussing pay (which was much better than I’d hoped) and a few other details, he then went over the need for absolute privacy and secrecy. “You can’t tell anyone what we do here. Not your wife, not your dog.” (I have neither, as it happens.) “We’ll give you a cover story and even a phone number and a fake website you can use. You will have to tell people you are a consultant. Since your background is in tech support, that will be your cover job. Is this going to be a problem for you?” I assured him it would not. “Well, OK. Shall we get started?”
“No time like the present!” he said with a hearty laugh.
The rest of the day was taken up with training. Another staff member, a no-nonsense woman in her thirties, was to be my trainer, and training would only last two days. “You seem like a bright guy, you’ll get the hang of it pretty fast, I think,” she said. And indeed, the job was easier than I’d imagined. My task was simple: I would be assigned to four different websites, with the goal of entering certain discussions and promoting a certain view. I learned later that some of the personnel were assigned to internet message boards (like me), while others worked on Facebook or chatrooms. It seems these three types of media each have different strategy for shilling, and each shill concentrates on one of the three in particular.
My task? “To support Israel and counter anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic posters.” Fine with me. I had no opinions one way or another about Israel, and who likes anti-Semites and Nazis? Not me, anyway. But I didn’t know too much about the topic. “That’s OK,” she said. “You’ll pick it up as you go along. For the most part, at first, you will be doing what we call “meme-patrol.” This is pretty easy. Later if you show promise, we’ll train you for more complex arguments, where more in-depth knowledge is necessary.”
She handed me two binders with sheets enclosed in limp plastic. The first was labeled simply “Israel” in magic-marker on the cover, and it had two sections .The first section contained basic background info on the topic. I would have to read and memorize some of this, as time went on. It had internet links for further reading, essays and talking points, and excerpts from some history books. The second, and larger, section was called “Strat” (short for “strategy”) with long lists of “dialogue pairs.” These were specific responses to specific postings.
If a poster wrote something close to “X,” we were supposed to respond with something close to “Y.” “You have to mix it up a bit, though,” said my trainer. “Otherwise it gets too obvious. Learn to use a thesaurus.” This section also contained a number of hints for de-railing conversations that went too far away from what we were attempting. These strategies included various forms of personal attacks, complaining to the forum moderators, smearing the characters of our opponents, using images and icons effectively, and even dragging the tone of the conversation down with sexual innuendo, links to pornography, or other such things. “Sometimes we have to fight dirty,” or trainer told us. “Our opponents don’t hesitate to, so we can’t either.”
The second binder was smaller, and it contained information specific to the web sites I would be assigned to. The sites I would work were: Godlike Productions, Lunatic Outpost, CNN news, Yahoo News, and a handful of smaller sites that rotated depending on need. As stated, I was NOT assigned to work ATS (although others in my group were), which is part of the reason I am posting this here, rather than elsewhere. I wanted to post this on Godlike Productions at first, but they have banned me from even viewing that site for some reason (perhaps they are onto me?). But if somebody connected with this site can get the message to them, I think they should know about it, because that was the site I spent a good 70% of my time working on.
The site-specific info in the second binder included a brief history each site, including recent flame-wars, as well as info on what to avoid on each site so as not to get banned. It also had quite detailed info on the moderators and the most popular regged posters on each site: location (if known), personality type, topics of interest, background sketch, and even some notes on how to “push the psychological buttons” of different posters. Although I didn’t work for ATS, I did see they had a lot of info on your so-called “WATS” posters here (the ones with gold borders around their edges). “Focus on the popular posters,” my trainer told me. “These are the influential ones. Each of these is worth 50 to 100 of the lesser known names.”
Each popular poster was classified as “hostile,” “friendly,” or “indifferent” to my goal. We were supposed to cultivate friendship with the friendly posters as well as the mods (basically, by brownnosing and sucking up), and there were even notes on strategies for dealing with specific hostile posters. The info was pretty detailed, but not perfect in every case. “If you can convert one of the hostile posters from the enemy side to our side, you get a nice bonus. But this doesn’t happen too often, sadly. So mostly you’ll be attacking them and trying to smear them.”
At first, like I said, my job was “meme-patrol.” This was pretty simple and repetitive; it involved countering memes and introducing new memes, and didn’t demand much in-depth knowledge of the subject. Mostly just repetitive posting based on the dialogue pairs in the “Strat” section of the first binder. A lot of my job was de-railing and spamming threads that didn’t go our way, or making accusations of racism and anti-Semitism. Sometimes I had to simply lie and claim a poster said something or did something “in another thread” they really hadn’t said or done I felt bad about this…but in the end I felt worse about the possibility of losing the first job I’d been able to get since losing my “real” job.
The funny thing was, although I started the job with no strong opinions or political views, after a few weeks of this I became very emotionally wedded to the pro-Israel ideas I was pushing. There must be some psychological factor at work…a good salesman learns to honestly love the products he’s selling, I guess. It wasn’t long before my responses became fiery and passionate, and I began to learn more about the topic on my own. “This is a good sign,” my trainer told me. “It means you are ready for the next step: complex debate.”
The “complex debate” part of the job involved a fair amount of additional training, including memorizing more specific information about the specific posters (friendly and hostile) I’d be sparring with. Here, too, there were scripts and suggested lines of argument, but we were given more freedom. There were a lot of details to this more advanced stage of the job – everything from how to select the right avatar to how to use “demotivationals” (humorous images with black borders that one finds floating around the web). Even the proper use of images of cats was discussed. Sometimes we used faked or photo-shopped images or doctored news reports (something else that bothered me).
I was also given the job of tying to find new recruits, people “like me” who had the personality type, ability to keep a secret, basic writing/thinking skills, and desperation necessary to sign on a shill. I was less successful at this part of the job, though, and I couldn’t find another in the time I was there.
After a while of doing this, I started to feel bad. Not because of the views I was pushing (as I said, I was first apolitical, then pro-Israel), but because of the dishonesty involved. If my arguments were so correct, I wondered, why did we have to do this in the first place? Shouldn’t truth propagate itself naturally, rather than through, well…propaganda? And who was behind this whole operation, anyway? Who was signing my paychecks? The stress of lying to my parents and friends about being a “consultant” was also getting to me. Finally, I said enough was enough. I quit in September 2011. Since then I’ve been working a series of unglamorous temp office jobs for lower pay. But at least I’m not making my living lying and heckling people who come online to express their views and exercise freedom of speech.
A few days ago I happened to be in the same neighborhood and on a whim thought I’d check out the old office. It turns out the operation is gone, having moved on. This, too, I understood, is part of their strategy: Don’t stay in the same place for too long, don’t keep the same name too long, move on after half a year or so. Keeping a low profile, finding new employees through word of mouth: All this is part of the shill way of life. But it is a deceptive way of life, and no matter how noble the goals (I remain pro-Israel, by the way), these sleazy means cannot be justified by the end.
This is my confession. I haven’t made up my mind yet about whether I want to talk more about this, so if I don’t respond to this thread, don’t be angry. But I think you should know: Shills exist. They are real. They walk among you, and they pay special attention to your popular gold-bordered WATS posters. You should be aware of this. What you choose to do with this awareness is up to you.

On Wednesday–more than three years after Palin’s warning–Obama did exactly what the former governor forecasted.
On August 1, 2009–just seven months into President Barack Obama’s first term–former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin predicted Obama would attempt to leverage health care to “take away” the Second Amendment rights of Americans.
In a speech to National Rifle Association members in Anchorage, Alaska, Palin said Americans should be “wary” of this “tie-in” because Obama would attempt to “take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan”:
And by the way, [with] health care being so big in D.C. right now, be wary when some kind of tie-in occurs. Because it will crop up: a tie-in with guns in an attempt to take away our rights under the guise of some new health care plan. You know that this is coming–that the two issues will somehow crop up and they’ll be tied together. So we have to be very wary of that.

TWO men who walked away from a car crash on the back roads around Wivenhoe Dam claimed to be chasing an alien space craft when found by police.
Police and the driver's insurance company received several sketchy phone calls from the men, who appeared to be convinced paranormal activity caused the crash.
Police received the first call from the men at 2.25am Friday, saying they had been in an accident at Split Yard Creek and asked for the RAAF to attend.
It later became apparent the car had gone off the road and down an embankment near the Split Yard Creek bridge.
As the evening progressed, the men became increasingly agitated and scared of the situation.
The phone call dropped out, and after 30 minutes of trying to contact the men, police received a call from RACQ Insurance.
Police said the conversations with the men were vague and at times barely understandable.
The men began to "freak out", telling the insurance company they were about to disappear and referred to the area as the Bermuda Triangle, police said.
Police called the men back, with the second male answering the phone, telling police there were "some really weird things going on" and they had abandoned the car.
Police received another call from the men at 4am, claiming that "something paranormal" had occurred and "big bright lights" caused the car accident.
Police found the men at 4.10am at the intersection of Wivenhoe-Somerset Rd and Hyne Rd.
They were armed with knives and appeared to be protecting themselves.
The men became aggressive claiming "there were more of them around".
The car's driver was breathalysed. He was over the limit and given a notice to appear in court.
One of the men was charged with assaulting a police officer.

In 1980, David Lifton's Best Evidence was published, and it explained the discrepancy between medical reporting at Parkland and Bethesda with a stunning theory: the President's body had been altered in transit.
Lifton's "body alteration" theory was hardly invented out of whole cloth. Lifton noticed the FBI report of the autopsy, withheld from the Warren Commission 26 volumes, which stated that "surgery to the head area" was noted when JFK's body was taken from its wrapping. Lifton also talked to several autopsy participants and other Navy corpsmen - Paul O'Connor, James Jenkins, Dennis David, James Metzler, Richard Lipsey, and others - whose accounts gave rise to Lifton's conclusion that there were two entries of different caskets into the morgue. Some autopsy participants described the body arriving in a shipping casket, not the ceremonial casket brought from Dallas.
Lifton has been ridiculed by many in the mainstream, though his bestseller has not been ignored - Case Closed author Gerald Posner spent nearly a chapter of his book refuting the theory. But even many of those who believe in a conspiracy and federal coverup doubt the body alteration thesis, on the basis of the lack of time to perform any complex surgery, and the problem of whether the casket was ever left unattended on Air Force One.
Some of the explanatory power of the theory has diminished after the release of HSCA medical interviews showing that, despite pronouncements to the contrary, many Bethesda autopsy witnesses described the head wounds in a manner somewhat consistent with the accounts from Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
Still, the evidence for two ambulances and two caskets will not go away. Military chatter aboard Air Force One made repeated reference to the need for a forklift to be brought to the right front of the plane, where the "first lady" would depart. But Mrs. Kennedy left the plane with everyone else from the left rear.
More stunning was the HSCA's suppressed interview with Richard Lipsey, the military aide put in charge of moving the body from Andrews Air Force Base to Bethesda. In 1978, Lipsey told HSCA interviewers that there had been two hearses and two caskets. According to Lipsey, Jackie Kennedy accompanied an empty casket into the front of the hospital, while "the one with the body in it went around to the back, where the morgue was." The HSCA appears not to have made any effort to follow up this explosive story.

JOHN LIGGETT and the murder of LBJ look-alike, JAY BERT PECK
On Tuesday, March 27, 1974, 44-year-old Dorothy A. Peck of 1202 Melrose in Garland, Texas, staggered from her home and asked a neighbor to summon police and firemen. She had been brutally beaten and a fire had been started from clothing stuffed beneath her bed. Her bed had been destroyed and her bedroom scorched before firemen doused the flames. She had been left for dead, but she survived to identified her assailant. From her hospital bed, she identified John Melvin Liggett as the man who had accompanied her home from a bar the night before, attacked her with a hammer, and set fire to her bed.
Curiously, approximately 5 years earlier on July 5, 1969, Jay Bert Peck, of the same Garland address and presumably Mrs. Peck husband (although he was nearly 30 years her senior), was murdered at the same location. Mrs. Peck heard a shot in the bedroom, rushed in and found Peck in bed with a bullet wound in his head. He was rushed to Parkland Hospital where he died 12 hours later. Peck, a cousin of Lyndon Johnson, and an LBJ look-alike, achieved a certain degree of notoriety impersonating the president. He made appearances at parties and political functions. He even had a small part in Dean Martin’s Matt Helm movie, The Wrecking Crew, in which he appeared as the president.
After Liggett’s arrest, police started looking into possible Liggett involvement in several unsolved murders. Susan Thompson Payne, a 41-year-old women was found dead in a fire-gutted North Dallas apartment on February 10, 1974. Her body had been mutilated and sexually abused. There were several other fire-related murders in the Dallas area in the early 70s and Liggett was a prime suspect.
All of the above information is in the public domain, in Harrison Livingstone’s book, “Killing Kennedy”, in contemporary newspaper accounts (Dallas Morning News), and in Nigel Turner’s TV show. Here are some unanswered questions:
· Was John Melvin Liggett part of a witness elimination program as claimed by Harrison Livingstone in “Killing Kennedy”?
· It seems very likely the Liggett did try to kill Mrs. Peck. Did he also murder Jay Bert Peck? Did Peck know something and was that what got him killed? Did he tell his wife and was that the reason an attempt was made on her life? Is there any significance to the fact the Peck was a relative of LBJ? Or is this just another one of those coincidences that keep cropping up in this case?
· What did the other murder victims know?
· As reported by Livingstone, Larry Howard of the Assassination Information Center was looking into this case in 1993 when he had two strokes and died. Is there a connection?
· What does Billie Sol Estes know about this case? He’s been shopping the story around.

A quick thought: Everyone is "up in arms" (pun intended) about the push for more gun control laws. But no one seems to be noticing that a significant number of the new proposals are aimed at EXPANDING MENTAL HEALTH related powers of the government. This is OBVIOUSLY intentionally timed to coincide with the introduction of the new DSM-5 psychiatric diagnosis manual, which represents what is possibly the biggest scandal ever in the history of the psychiatric so-called "profession." I wouldn't be surprised if their plan is to abandon most of the new gun control proposals after awhile due to public outcry, which will show everyone that "the system still works," but then **quietly push through the mental-health-specific provisions that most people are not paying attention to.** And I'll tell you right now, if they do that then you might as well just turn your guns in anyway because once the DSM-5 psychiatric diagnostic manual goes into effect in a few months, they will start diagnosing large numbers of Americans as mentally ill. The timing of the DSM-5 introduction and the new mental-health related gun control proposals is OBVIOUSLY INTENTIONAL AND NOT A COINCIDENCE. The FT reports that the two countries are set to sign a wide-ranging defense treaty, boosting the UK’s global profile as it sets its sights beyond Europe in the 21st-century geopolitical theater:Owing to its geographic location, vast mineral reserves and cultural ties, Australia’s is seen by the UK government as a natural partner to help expand Britain’s influence in Asia. […]With the UK reconsidering its role in Europe and looking to play a broader global role, its focus is increasingly turning towards Asia, where much of the action is happening. As a culturally Anglo-Saxon country with a deep economic cultural understanding of Asia, Australia makes perfect sense as an ally and is uniquely positioned to aid Britain (and the U.S.) in the pivot to Asia.
